I too am having this problem, except that during my Handbrake transcodes, all of the remaining space was used up by Handbrake, and now I have 0Kb left! Please help!

Re: Encoding Without Compression
Can you mount the ISO with a program such as Toast? Then you could probably just copy the movie file in the image to your HDD and wouldn't have to convert.

Re: Enable VFR for AVI
Yep, understood. No worries. Thanks for taking the time to look into this. Its been very much appreciated. I was just reporting on my results of what I have seen in a couple of test encodes so that anyone else who is looking to do similar will have something to refer to in these forums. The decomb f...

Re: Enable VFR for AVI
So I tried a different source tonight and had different results with the same settings. Same show and same EyeTV record settings, except the source I using last night opens up with some black at the front of the clip. The source I was testing with tonight, opens up with the second of the two hard-te...

Re: 23.976 for AVI now working!
jbrjake , in the 1477 snapshot, I can now take a 29.97 hard-telecined source and go to 23.976 in AVI without having the blended or repeated frames I have noted on previously in this thread! I can now achieve exactly what I set out to do by enabling the new Decomb filter in the 1477 snapshot build. ...

Re: Encoding from point A to point B
The average use I *think* would be more likely to associate it with time. While the video geek would want frame number. I agree that the "average" user is going to want mark in and out points associated with time. I think if you could enable this in the GUI and have it represented in a fo...

Re: AC3-in-MP4
by dynaflash http://trac.handbrake.fr/changeset/1286 automatically changes the file extension to .m4v for mp4's with AC3 audio in them for the macgui to help avoid confusion. It appears that this is broken in the latest SVN snapshots (1457 and 1477). If I use a VOB and select AppleTV w/ AC-3 Pass-T...

Re: PS3 encoding with surround ?
I'd like to hear how you got this to work too. From my testing, the PS3 (fw 2.3.5) has only supported AC-3 embedded audio tracks when they were in AVI format using the ffmpeg or xvid encoders. Using the X264 encoder in AVI or any encoder in MP4 caused an error to popup when the PS3 tries to decode t...

Re: Enable VFR for AVI
OK, understood and thank you very much for looking into this.
So, from the sound of it, it looks like the CFR code for AVI hasn't changed in the 1464 revision? So that means what I am seeing in 1457 is going to be the same? Would 0.9.1 and 0.9.2 be the same as well?
Thanks again.

Re: Enable VFR for AVI
It should have been self evident that if the snapshot was 1457 and it was fixed in 1464 you would have to build the latest SVN. Sorry, this wasn't self-evident to me, obviously. It is now. Clearly, though you weren't telling the truth when you said that the other day. Really you were just using an ...

Obviously, I was wrong in my initial interpretation of how your revision system works. I've already admitted to that fact. Call it human error, if you will, in that I am not perfect. I am new to these threads and was seeking help. You guys have built an amazing little application. But I clearly don'...

What are you *talking* about? I most certainly did *not* link you to a "case number." I linked you to an svn revision! You're not even reading the information you're given, are you? Wow. Do you get off on your superiority complex or what? I don't know why all of your responses have to sou...

Re: Enable reverse pulldown of 59.94 material to 23.976
Also, trust me, not all broadcasts are like that. A 59.94 sample I have from dynaflash is apparently blend hard telecined to 30fps before duping to 60fps. BTW, if you need any short sample clips of ANY format/resolution, just let me know. Its very likely I have an example that I can share of almost...

Re: Enable VFR for AVI
I told you precisely which revision re-enabled the constant frame rate stuff. There is no way I can possibly respond to something you ask for and retroactively place it in old binaries. You're not even using the latest official release let alone the snapshot code! Before, you only linked to a case ...

Re: Enable VFR for AVI
Unfortunately, (and maybe this is a bug) when I try to set the frame rate to 23.976 and select detelecine, the resulting file leaves many interlaced frames remaining. So, it appears to be doing the decimation first and then applying the detelecine filter. It should do them in reverse.

Re: Allow square pixel horizontal upscaling
Thanks. If that bug is fixed, that would be more than sufficient. My main goal here is just so that I can open up the AVI in QT on my mac and not have to go into the Movie Properties dialog and manually adjust the aspect ratio. This would be a bigger problem for anyone doing this type of encoding an...

Re: Enable VFR for AVI
I think you misunderstood jbrjake (or I misunderstood you) but AVI can't deal with VFR by design, there is nothing the HandBrake devs (or any other developer for that matter) can change about it. Right, so instead of VFR, how about fixed 23.976? I know that this isn't ideal, but it seems to be the ...

A: AVI sucks and I have zero interest in devoting any of my time to a dead format. Yes, yes, I know... Re: Enable reverse pulldown of 59.94 material to 23.976
I really dislike crude filters like that. Not because of the frame duration assumption, but because it's just not the right way to pull something up. Pattern-based IVTC just doesn't work right. The "typical" pattern might be AABBBCCDDD but if the cadence breaks at any point due to editing...

Re: Enable reverse pulldown of 59.94 material to 23.976
But how are the frames/fields repeated? Are they blended? No, actually the repeated frames would just have to be decimated. The typical pattern for 23.976 film content that has been converted to 59.94 is the following: AABBBCCDDD (0123456789). So, upon decimation, the following frames are removed: ...
