Re: Encoding H.264 For XBMC With The Latest SVN Snapshot

Just want to pop back and let you guys know that I am having no problem encoding stuff with the new SVN snapshot. Seems to be working out a lot better for me and I've learned so much over the last couple of weeks thanks to great communities like ones like this. Keep up the great work!

Re: Encoding H.264 For XBMC With The Latest SVN Snapshot

Anybody interested in seeing updates to this issue check out the thread in my previous post. Another member of the forum is using Handbrake with my settings and he is getting good results! So take a look at his post if you want to see what he used for his CLI input...

Re: Encoding H.264 For XBMC With The Latest SVN Snapshot

Apologies! I did not mean to offend you! I just wanted to report back my results... Indeed it is very strange that using the same settings I was able to get two different filesizes. And indeed Handbrake encodes the containers differently, so that could be the case! Handbrake had a couple bugs holdin...

Re: Encoding H.264 For XBMC With The Latest SVN Snapshot

I know, that's [Censored] up ain't it? I think it's because of other factors and not just the bitrate. Seems that Handbrake encodes containers differently and uses a less efficient version of the x264 encoder. With MeGUI I was using the most recent version of x264... It looks as though Handbrake has...

Re: Encoding H.264 For XBMC With The Latest SVN Snapshot

Well, just a little update for those who were vaguely interested in what I was trying to accomplish... I ended up scrapping Handbrake for now. I find the program MeGUI more powerful, and less buggy than Handbrake overall. It also supports 3rd party plugins/encoders and you can use the latest x264 bu...

Re: All H.264 Encodes Skip (MP4 & MKV) In The Latest SVN Snapsho

Thanks for your reply realityking. That is why Handbrake overrided my settings for "keyint". Now I know I do not need to set it. Anyways, I hate to repeat my previous questions, but I would love to have a little input on these matters... What is less CPU intensive on the decoding side... v...

Re: All H.264 Encodes Skip (MP4 & MKV) In The Latest SVN Snapsho

One more question... hope one or two of these get answered! I just found out about CQM, so I decided to try one out... It's encoding as we speak, so not sure if it is going to work or not. How do you tell that it is working? Anyways, that's not really the question. The question is, is why does my en...

Re: All H.264 Encodes Skip (MP4 & MKV) In The Latest SVN Snapsho

Quick question...

I see many movies on Torrents are encoded with "keyint-min=25:keyint-max=250"...

What does this do? And how come when I set it in the Advanced Options it still encodes them @ keyint-min=24:keyint-max=240?

Thanks.

Re: All H.264 Encodes Skip (MP4 & MKV) In The Latest SVN Snapsho

Contrary to popular belief, my Xbox1 decodes H.264 encoded with CABAC turned on *just fine*. I really like these settings for my encodes... Encoder -- H.264 (x264) [MKV] (Must Be In MKV Container Or I Get Wierd Issues) Crop -- Automatic Cropping Anamorphic -- Loose Anamorphic Size (Width/Height) -- ...

Re: All H.264 Encodes Skip (MP4 & MKV) In The Latest SVN Snapsho

I am using both Windows Media Player Classic and Xbox Media Center for XBOX1, however, it is probably not Handbrake's fault, as I have done encodes since then with different settings and everything now plays peachy. My main goal is to encode H.264 with near perefect DVD quality, with minimal croppin...

Encoding H.264 For XBMC With The Latest SVN Snapshot

Like the title says, I have done a couple encodes in 0.9.2 with little problems, however, with the latest snapshot available on the website I cannot get fluent video with ANY settings I choose. I have done 6 encodes so far, all with the same results. I beleive it might have to do with HandBrake auto...

Re: HandBrake Development Snapshot Builds

Can anyone compile the newest snapshot for me or already have it compiled and would like to upload it? I am a bit afraid of doing it myself and screwing it up!I only ask because the current snapshot is completely unusable for me, as I am constantly getting a variable framerate out of Handbrake inste...
