How to tell when you'll be stuck with a huge mux?
Utilizing Classic default preset. Is there any indication (even the AL) within HB that would be a tell tale sign of a long mux after the initial conversion? Good gawd..no movie is worth sitting and having to wait in what I imagine is a real time mux of the films actual run time. Many thanks to a won...

I'll play, although mine are not specifically in ATV format, they are ripped for my iPod(s) and that format will work on the ATV: Movies: 629, 36.8 Days, 456.28Gb TV Shows: 3154 Episodes (59 TV Shows/Series), 801.59Gb ..and growing as I type this. All spread across 4 500Gb SATA II drives (upgrading...

Re: Help with subtitles, please
Does it work with DVD Decrypter? To add to what I said above, English subtitles were selected. Ok, I got it to work with DVD Decrypter v3.5.4.0 and Daemon Tools Lite v4.12.3 using this method: 1. Rip the DVD using DVDD via ISO Read mode with these settings: http://img133.imageshack.us/my.php?image=...

Re: Help with subtitles, please
Getting the subtitles in Pan's Labyrinth was something of a challenge when the DVD came out. Using CloneDVD to rip and selecting Preserve Menu when you do so seems to be the recommended solution. Does DVDFab5 or DVDDecrypter have a similar function or would you have to download the trial version of...

Who has the largest AppleTV collection? Bring it!
Thought I'd start a conversation about who is bigger?! I keep my HB converted "flims" (Steve Martin hush parody) on a secondary internal 2TB SATA RAID configuration. Currently (according to iTunes), I have converted 323 titles for a total of 24.2 days playtime occupying 425.44 GB. I never ...

Re: good "classic" setting for atv and 1.33 ratio?
You can't have your cake and eat it too if your input is 4:3 and your output is 16:9. You are either willing to crop the source (destroying the original AR), live with the black bars (which it sounds like you don't want to), or stretch the output to 16:9 (again destroying the original AR, and disto...

Keeping the films aspect ratio but trying to fill as much screen as possible. Or is that the best/largest? 576x432?rhester wrote:Define "good".

good "classic" setting for atv and 1.33 ratio?
As the subject implies what would be a good classic preset screen size for my old movies that have a 1.33 ratio to use with ATV (mp4)? I'm currently using 576x432. Or did I nail it? hehe

any Windows software that is capable of adding the Ratings field? (Without breaking the rest of the metadata) I use tagger.jar in the XP enviorment. ripping w dvd decrypter so hb can see chapters?
Hey there gang. Simple question:
I use DVD Decrypter IFO mode to rip the main movie off my DVD's. How can I get DVDD to save the chapter information for HB to see and utilize during a conversion?
Many thanks

Re: 720x576 resize for ATV in MP4/AAC format?
Or, you know, you could just let HandBrake calculate the aspect ratio itself, with anamorphic turned off. 512? Why are you downscaling so much? You can use a width of 720 for any widescreen 1:1 par PAL content in MPEG-4, and a width of 640 for fullscreen. And aspect ratios are not exactly difficult...
