The Duo part of Core 2 Duo really does mean that there are two processing cores, i.e. you can process twice as fast. Who knew?Blueglide wrote:... and it is still more than TWICE AS FAST as the Vista system with a faster CPU!

[svn1477] Hangs at end of 2nd pass (98%)
I've set up a batch process for myself to rip multiple DVDs in series. For the most part (all of them until now), this works great. With the same command line parameters as all of my other rips, War of the Worlds 2 hangs indefinitely at 98.69% of the second pass with around 30 seconds remaining. Bec...

Re: Good compromise between encoding speed and quality
I'm a bit surprised that "ripping" to the local HD and then encoding is faster than just encoding from the DVD. It's definitely more productive overnight. I'll see how long the DVD rips take. When I get back home, I'll be able to use a DVD drive that I think is faster than the built-in on...

Did you try RipIt4Me (which uses DVDDecrypter)?

Re: Good compromise between encoding speed and quality
You're probably going to get a slew of different answers about formats and size, but I'll just put in my $0.02: I encode to H.264 AVIs. These probably are not iTunes friendly, but if you download VLC media player (cross-platform), pretty much anything is Mac friendly. I set my file size to 699 MB so...

Re: Batch convert ripped DVDs with HandbrakeCLI on Windows
I've written a similar script, before finding yours posted here, and it seems you will likely have the same problem that I do: Not specifying which Title of the DVD to use (-t 4) will cause HBCLI to default to using Title 1. While this is usually the correct title, some DVDs put their actual movie i...

Re: Hung DVD RIPs (0.9.2)
If that's the case, is there some way we can get a compiled version of the SVN? Or somewhere we can get a compiled 0.9.1, since it worked then? The download link only has 0.9.1 for Mac.

Re: Hung DVD RIPs (0.9.2)
I have the exact same problem! Ripping on WinXPPRo, to H.264 AVIs with MP3 audio, first pass complete fine, second pass just stops at some very low percentage of completion, like 1%-5%. No idea why though. I used the exact same settings in 0.9.1 and made hundreds of successful rips. Any suggestions?...
