Re: Mixed Framerate Woes
matchorno- You'll need to grow a thick skin on these boards. The culture of this forum isn't overwhelmingly friendly. Generally helpful, sure, but not always friendly. I think a lot of it is just that the vast majority of threads are from people that pop in just to report a problem, so there isn't t...

Re: Mixed Framerate Woes
I don't know about the ST:TNG dvds, but I do know my DS9 dvds were filmed at 23.978 and 29.97 fps. I pretty much noticed the exact problems you had, where forcing a frame rate created some jitter, and doing variable frame rate encoding created audio synchronization problems. Unfortunately, I never c...

Re: [Fixed] Win GUI Bug with Chapter Markers (for DVD & Video)
Sorry it has taken me so long to reply to this thread. I see this thread has been marked fixed. I just want to clarify my initial post (which I posted before 0.9.4 came out), since I'm still having this issue in 0.9.4. Maybe its been fixed in a development build. If so I apologize. While the issue w...

[Fixed] Win GUI Bug with Chapter Markers (for DVD & Video)
I'm running Handbrake svn2907 on a Windows 7 Pro x64 box. I think I found a little bug in the GUI concerning chapter markers. I might be wrong, but I think most of the built-in presets are suppose to try to create chapter markers. I think the only exception to this is the Legacy-Classic preset. Howe...

Re: missing the ending of ST:DS9 episodes
I realize this isn't entirely helpful, but I'm a Windows user and I've never had this problem with ripping/encoding my DS9 DVDs. The DS9 DVDs have always given me problems in Handbrake, since they keep going back and forth between telecined and non-telecined scenes, so I've encoded them several time...

Re: 2 pass encode dies consistently on 99.86% in first pass
I'm having a similar problem, although based on our activity logs I think it's caused by a different thing. I'm trying to encode West Wing DVDs using the Television preset with the bitrate upped to 1500kbps. Those encoding parameters seem to work fine on everything except for one particular episode....

Re: Film preset with MKV container. Stutter on playback
1. with the film preset, try using a container other than mkv 2. try lowering the bitrate from 1800 to something like 1000. its a stretch, but your media player might be having problems with fairly high bitrates 3. try loose anamorphic instead of normal anamorphic PAR. ive had a few issues with ana...

Re: Film preset with MKV container. Stutter on playback
Thanks for the tip, echohead. I tried that, but it didn't seem to help at all. The process seemed pretty idiot-proof, but I suppose its possible I did something wrong. But, I think Thunder and I are having a different problem. In our case its not so much that Handbrake doesn't handle mkv files well,...

Re: Film preset with MKV container. Stutter on playback
I've noticed this too. I'm not sure what the problem is. I've been modifying the iPod high-rez preset to basically be more like film (ie, turn on PAR, remove 640 resolution output). I'm really curious why the film preset doesn't work though.
