Re: The Dark Knight

Interesting. For Wall-E, I ripped the DVD on my PC with AnyDVD, transferred it to my Mac, and ripped. AnyDVD may well be ahead of RipIt here

Re: The Dark Knight

I was able to rip The Dark Knight with the latest version of RipIt (3.1.4) and scan with the latest version of Handbrake using the GUI. However, the file I got had Chapter One repeated many times, adding 38 minutes to the start of the movie. This happened whether I did a full scan or just got title 1.

Re: RipIt?

OK, I'm a bit out of touch with what are "difficult" DVDs these days, but I downloaded the trial and successfully ripped Iron Man, Castaway, and Littlest Mermaid: Ariel's beginning with RipIt and then used HandBrake 0.9.2 to rip them into a file for importing into iTunes. Idiot simple to u...

Re: Audio track (and maybe subtitle) preview would be nice

Just wanted to say I'd also like an audio track preview...with the Apple TV now having a feature for playing alternative audio tracks, I'd love to have the commentary track included when it's on the disk.

RipIt?

Anyone have any experience with RipIt ? I saw it in the VersionTracker feed. For a while (ever since giving up on MacTheRipper due to the hoops necessary to jump through) I've been ripping my DVDs on my PC with AnyDVD, then use an external hard disk to move the ripped files to my Mac where I rip dow...

Re: AppleTV and your movie collection

The fact is this: By default you see your entire library on appleTV. There is no (visible) distinction between synced and streaming content. You can "disable" streaming content by means of a checkmark in iTunes. That way you only see what is synced to your aTV (same happens when you shutd...

Re: How to add movie ratings to iTunes....

Thanks for the advice. I've been using MetaX for a few days for things like rating, cast, and description, and it's great. Once I finally got Bee Movie to rip, instead of my normal "add movie to iTunes, cancel syncing to AppleTV, search amazon.com, get bigger picture, drag to desktop, open in p...

Re: AppleTV and your movie collection

Unfortunately, I think that with the Take 2, the developers said "OK, the idea that people would have big libraries has failed, so it's all about the rentals". Thus, purchased and ripped movies are somewhat hidden away, "Your movies" is at the bottom of the list. My biggest compl...

Re: READ ME / POST HERE if a specific DVD/Movie won't rip

Good to know. I'm finally ripping now, with the following steps involved. (1) Use AnyDVD on windows box to mount DVD (2) Use CopyDVD on the windows box, exporting just the main feature. (3) Copy to USB Hard disk, then copy from that drive to my Mac (4) Rip with Handbrake on Mac. All I can say is tha...

Re: AppleTV and your movie collection

I've got 163 movies, and it works pretty well. If you keep on scrolling, the scrolling speeds up, so you get close to the right position, then go forward or back a bit to get to the movie you need. I've also got 344 TV episodes. Some purchased, others ripped from DVD like Greatest American Hero, Yes...

Re: READ ME / POST HERE if a specific DVD/Movie won't rip

Add me to the "no-luck" group for Bee Movie as well. Leopard, all updates, 1.5 GB RAM, iMac Intel 2 GHz. Using MacTheRipper 3.0 - R14d, was able to do a full rip but Handbrake crashes when scanning #61, crashed when ripping the main feature only. Using FairMount 1.0.2 ripping with Handbrak...
