Re: How to the hole folder instead of one video on at a time

It's whole*, btw, and you can't encode a whole folder, unless the folder is a folder with a DVD structure inside, if you use HandBrake you have to add files to the queue individually, you can't add an entire folder of files and have them all encode by just selecting a folder. If you want to encode m...

Re: HB .93 - Muxing: this may take awhile...

Actually, .m4v files do multiple audio tracks, closed captioning and chapter markers. I have made many m4v files and they do all of these, just as a note.

Re: Possible Bug [SVN 2592]

You're right. Here's a picture of what the video looks like in QuickTime and what it looks like in VLC 1.0.0-rc4 QuickTime: http://thumbnails13.imagebam.com/4092/4b502240916808.gif VLC: http://thumbnails9.imagebam.com/4092/4fe71640915870.gif So the problem is definitely not with HandBrake, sorry abo...

Re: Possible Bug [SVN 2592]

Hmmmm. Well I think I have the most up to date versions of iTunes (8.2.0) and QuickTime (7.6.2), downloaded from Apple, and my VLC version is 0.9.9. I'm still having the same problem in QuickTime and iTunes currently. I'll check to make sure I have the current versions though.

[Resolved] [SVN 2592] Possible Bug

Not sure if this is a bug or not, but I've been trying out the closed captions in the new snapshot and I've run across a problem. The closed captions work perfectly, but they are located very low in the video, so low, that they are cut off almost completely, just the tops of the words are visible. I...

General Question About svn2592

I know that tech support isn't offered for any snapshots, but this isn't really a problem, just a question. I dunno if it's been answered before, but I searched around and didn't find anything. I was just wondering - on the subtitles tab in svn2592, what does the checkbox for default mean? The other...

Re: Family Guy Volume 7, chopping end of titles.

I had the same problem, I just ripped Family Guy Volume 7 the other day and HandBrake had problems with the files. It did the exact same thing you are talking about, it would encode 4 out of 5 chapters every time on certain episodes and just leave out the 5th chapter. I believe the problem occurs be...

Large Amount of Dropped Frames

I have been ripping some Family Guy episodes and I've been having problems with a few episodes. The problem is consistently the same and I'm not sure what is causing it. I think it may be a problem with the DVD or how the episodes are being ripped. There is a part of the episode where the audio star...

Re: Rip my own CD as the audio to a ripped DVD

I did this already, to tell the truth. It was a little while ago, but it does work. Although, on the mp3s, you should use a program to increase the volume or it doesn't come out that well. But, I'm pretty sure that I did this process: A. Deal with the MP3s 1. Take the two mp3s and used mp3DirectCut ...

Re: Increase sound volume

Did you try increasing the sound in iTunes by using get info? Under options there is a volume adjustment and you can go up to +100% volume. It also changes the volume on synced devices (at least it does on my iPod, should be the same for iPhones).

Re: Can I get more volume on my ipod with movies?

Or, on iTunes, right-click on your movie on iTunes, go to Get Info, then click under options, and under volume adjustment set to +100% assuming you haven't already. The movie will also be 100% louder on your iPod as well, I have done it.

Test 4 - Using the iPod Legacy Preset, adding in only detelecining and decomb together: No Significant Distortion So I guess we've ruled out decomb and detelecine as causes for this. Definitelly. I did another test, encoding all the chapters, detelecine and decomb on, 3 audio tracks, forced subtitl...

Re: Distorted/Blocky Frames in Family Guy

If you don't know what a preset does, don't [Censored] with it. You've taken a preset that is specifically and particularly tuned for 1500kb/s and you're choosing to feed it a bitrate far below that. I can't begin to assess what's causing this problem until you stop messing around with the rate con...

Re: Distorted/Blocky Frames in Family Guy

Well, that doesn't quite look like any sort of distortion decomb should be able to produce. Please use sensible rate control so it's possible to isolate this. I don't know what you think you're going to achieve by pairing those VBV settings with that bitrate... I'm not quite sure what your asking, ...

Distorted/Blocky Frames in Family Guy

I have been converting Family Guy DVDs and I recently have been running into some problems with the encoding of the episodes. Almost every time the scene switches, there are a few frames that look very blocky and distorted, and not because of the downgrade in quality from DVD quality. I'm not sure w...

Check out Metadata Hootenanny (for Mac OS Only), at http://metahoot.3ivx.com/ , it should do what you want to do, and it even has a wizard for choosing pictures automatically. Interesting...note that this only seems to promise to do MOV and not MP4 though. EDIT: Actually, I can't find how to do thi...

I have used MetaHoot a little and just spent over an hour reading and trying to figure out how to simply add chapter images to an existing movie but I still can't figure it out and the Sprite Wizard is confusing and not well documented. Can you tell me how to add chapter images ? You can't, I miss ...

Re: handbrake not encoding, and taking 3-6 hours:

No, I don't think you can speed up encoding times. 3-6 hours for a movie is most likely a normal time, so you just have to make sure you set aside time to allow it to encode.
