The permission of the "T" folder is stable for now at drwxr-xr-x.
But the hb.0000 temp folder gets dumped.
Any solution?

Re: HandBrake 0.10.2 and El Capitan > 2-pass & Queue crashes
I have narrowed down my 2-pass queue issue down to this "T" folder.
Why does El Capitan create a drwx------ folder every time after dumping it periodically?
Any way to go around this problem?

Re: HandBrake 0.10.2 and El Capitan > 2-pass & Queue crashes
Thanks, Ritsuka. Tried cleaning cache, same issue.
I did one thing, I have to keep changing the permission of the affected folder /private/var/folders/8n/thisonewillbedifferent/T/ from drwx------ to drwxr-xr-x It seems the queue will go through. But the folder will revert back to drwx------ some how.

Re: HandBrake 0.10.2 and El Capitan > 2-pass & Queue crashes
No solution for now? Constant Framerate setting really gives me weird file sizes. I tried checking Framerate (FPS) both Variable Framerate and Constant Framerate while using Constant Quality RF20. I use imediaHUD to check info, the Video Frame Rate Mode still shows Variable for both encoded files. W...

Re: HandBrake 0.10.2 and El Capitan > 2-pass & Queue crashes
We'll fix and/or workaround this eventually, but you should really be using 1-pass Constant Quality anyway ;) :P I tried to change the permission of the affected folder and HandBrake managed to run 3 jobs in the queue with 2-pass. No other apps running. Then I tried again with one 2-pass job and th...

Re: HandBrake 0.10.2 and El Capitan > 2-pass & Queue crashes
Apple removed repair permission in El Capitan.
I don't know how to repair permission in the new OS X.

HandBrake 0.10.2 and El Capitan > 2-pass & Queue crashes
Please detail your question or problem in as much detail as possible: This problem only surfaced after I upgraded to El Capitan from Yosemite. I always have the latest software. I re-encode a bigger MKV file into a small MP4/M4V file. Do a 2-pass always. Since the upgrade of OS X, I face on and off...

Re: HandBrake not encoding properly after 10.11 update.
Hi rollin_eng, what are the words to look out for in the logs that can trigger queue issue? I will look for those words and post those sections. I'm not comfortable posting my full logs online. I don't think I have encoding issue. I have queue crashing issue. Thanks. Without your log we don't even ...

Thanks. What is "HandBrake can't open the temporary files it created."?Ritsuka wrote:SWR: no, you have some permissions issue, HandBrake can't open the temporary files it created. No idea why.

Re: HandBrake not encoding properly after 10.11 update.
Will jzw9's method solve my queue crash issue?
HandBrake will crash every time it goes to the next encoding job in the queue. I have to do it one by one now.

Re: HandBrake not encoding properly after 10.11 update.
I have pick out the errors from these two logs. HandBrake Activity Log see my other thread Encoded File Log see my other thread I was running a 2-pass. The encoding finished the first pass and HandBrake said task completed. No second pass and no file at the designated folder. Every time I deleted th...

Re: HandBrake not encoding properly after 10.11 update.
I hardly have any issue with HandBrake over the years. But since upgrading to El Capitan, I have problems re-encoding MKV to a smaller M4V file. Process will either finish and no file found or crash half way. Is the stable HandBrake compatible with El Capitan? I will try to replicate the issue and g...

Re: Why are subtitles burnt into the video?
I just went and read the user guide again. Ya, it's hard burn.
But I remember that in the past, I was able to turn off subtitles.
Is there a way to include subtitles in the video and yet able to turn it off?
Thanks.

Why are subtitles burnt into the video?
Using the latest Leopard, QT Pro, WMV Player Pro, Perian and Handbrake. If I choose subtitles in whatever options Handbrake provides (including on/off Forced Subtitles Only), the subtitles will be burned into the video. I open up the video in QT Pro and turn off subtitles, and sadly it still on the ...
