why does the windows version not handle macrovision?
The mac version is an all in one tool, but with windows I am trying to rip some DVD's that I OWN, and they are showing as copy protected.... I used to use dvd42 but I can't seem to find it for windows? What are people using to rip dvd's or how can we get handbrake to do so... and why would the devs ...

how many threads can handbreak handle
I want to build a new machine - a main focus of this machine is going to be ripping via handbrake. How many threads can handbrake handle and can you simultanously launch multiple copies on windows? You guys are doing a great job with this software...guidance is appreciated as i don't want to overdo ...

I am really torn on if i want to fud around with all the oc'ing or if i should just get the quad core.. your results are impressive - how hard was it to get stable at those speeds? I don't think there's a big difference in price between the e6600 and the core 2 quad.. but it looks like the quad isn'...

Don't think VH yet handles .mkv files either. handles it fine. I just converted a very lonk mkv to 1.3 gig ipod compat. file - works well, fast, looks good... the source was 720p - when i used VH to burn that same file to a dvd, there was a very minor stutter here and there - but nothing like that ...

You don't stream from windows media player - install the zune software.. .choose the ipod format and limit the width to 640 - no more than 1500 kbps on the bitrate. as of what, 3 days ago - the 360 streams that fine... i've tested it fwiw... and the zune stream is a LOT better than the old windows m...

a lot of my vista issuews were remedied when i disabled the UAM - however, they did not ALL go away - and (based on the last version) i would say that checking the run as admin does not fix this due to reliance on other components , cli, cygwin.. the only way i think is disabling the UAM - and even ...

2.23 bug- aspect ratio
Program seems to have difficulty detecting 2.35 AR - happened on The Matrix, and Arligton Road where it reported as 1.78. Not the biggest issue in the world, just want to know if others are experiencing it.
sr55- great job on the updated version - vast improvements.

I appreciate that, however i am aware of extracting a disc - the thing is, using anydvd works for any other application and this appears to be an application error with handbrake. It's a work around, sure, but it doesn't preclude the issue.Titan wrote:try this

I ran into this under xp on a different machine, but it was sort of here and there - the same version (current) of handbrake won't get thru the reading process in vista - any ideas? Initially i thought only olde tv shows should be deinterlaced to stop the blinds effect - is that not accurate? Since i won't rip everything twice and i want to have it available for my appletv and my ipod - i'm sticking to a resize width of 640 - no anamorphic - and i was doing a 1500 abr with 2 pa...

2-pass ghosting + advanced settings
Wondering if anyone else has seen a strange ghosting issue with 2 pass encoding. The best way i can explain it is that it seems like it doesn't forget the last 2 frames previous to the present. On shows like 24 (which i am trying to rip seasons of) it's a problem as the camera style is slightly shak...

Re: Using new Media Fork iPod H.264 setting won't copy to iP
640 is a hard limit. Not like the old macroblock calcs. Only because iTunes makes it so. Use an app like Floola to copy videos without iTunes, and you'll see that the iPod can actually play H.264 videos wider than 640px... Slightly annoying. This is not the result I just found testing with Floola. ...
