Re: (Win 0.9.2) 50% of the time audio delay up to 0.5 sec
Great, I found van's thoughts on this topic. (http://forum.handbrake.fr/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=5004) Thanks a lot for taking a look into this! I suggest we start making a list with DVD's that are reported to have audio/video-syncing problems. So, to all, please use this thread to post them here, to...

Re: (Win 0.9.2) 50% of the time audio delay up to 0.5 sec
Yup, I don't own a mac... I found kind of a log, but not sure if this is what you are looking for. The file is called 'hb_encode_log.dat' and located in C:\Documents and Settings\<current user>\Local Settings\Temp ('current user' to be replaced with the username that is logged on) The file only hold...

OK, I narrowed it down a bit. Checked different encoding settings for one specific DVD and it seems VFR is involved. HB DVD data [23:46:10] hb_init: checking cpu count [23:46:10] hb_init: starting libhb thread [23:46:10] thread ed2148 started ("libhb") HandBrake 0.9.2 (2008021900) - http:/...

DVD's with Sync-ing issues after encoding
EDIT: now that some development is under way to solve audio/video-syncing problems. I renamed this thread and I suggest we start making a list with DVD's that are reported to have audio/video-syncing problems. This way we know what DVD's can be used to test solutions on. So, to all, please use this...

Win 0.9.2 Moire, Green Line, Sync
Just watching the encoding-work my pc has done last night. All encoded using AppleTV-preset, sometimes with Deinterlace(fast) en sometimes VFR/Detelesync on. (Unless there is kind of an queue-log, I can't tell for sure anymore what settings I used for what film...) Some observations. - when playing ...

Re: [solved:no bug] Windows 0.9.2 no AC3 5.1 pass through?
Ehm... I just encoded the same video, now with track 1: stereo 2.0 selected.
In Gspot it shows as stereo (as you would expect), but QT again says 6 channels. 1:left 2:right, 3-6: 'unused' .
So, from QT I can't tell this way it's (not) a 5.1 track. The data rate of 191,91 does give a hint though.

Re: Windows 0.9.2 no AC3 5.1 pass through?
Well, you have to click on the 2) Name: Surround, Channels: Stereo (L R), Format: AC3 Part and below that it will show you the six, if they are there. At least on QT Pro for mac. Got it. In Win you need to click on the track and then on the ' Audio Settings'-tab. It shows 6 channels. 1:left 2:right...

Re: Windows 0.9.2 no AC3 5.1 pass through?
yes, in qt pro, I wanted you to click on the AC3 track Movie Properties. If you did it would show the channels in the track, if you see six instead of two, then its decoding it as ac3 5.1 Get perian 1.1 if you dont have it. Uh, I'm using WinXP, so Perian is a no go I guess :? And, I already posted ...

Hey, I wasn't even finished typing!
You're fast Thanks for clarifying this! So, Gspot actually was the most accurate (but why it only sees one track? only the active one?)

[solved:no bug] Windows 0.9.2 no AC3 5.1 pass through?
This discussion better is move to here, so here are the essentials: - Windows XP, HB 0.9.2, AppleTV preset, Audio Track 1: 5.1 selected, Track 2: empty - Encoded .m4v file seems to missing the AC3 5.1 pass through-track - MediaInfo & Quicktime Pro report two 2-channel audio-tracks (1 AAC, 1 AC3)...

Re: HandBrake 0.9.2 -> new options explained
Sorry, took a second to get this.
Quicktime Pro gives 2 audio tracks:
1) Name: Stereo, Channels: Stereo (L R), Format: AAC
2) Name: Surround, Channels: Stereo (L R), Format: AC3
Funny, Gspot only finds 1 track, but reports it to be AC3 48000Hz 384 kb/s tot , 6 chnls (3/2 .1)

Re: HandBrake 0.9.2 -> new options explained
I tried all possible options I could now, with a small sample file, but keep getting '2 channels' on all audio tracks (both AAC and AC3) in MediaInfo
I'm expecting to find a 6 channel AC3 track though in MediaInfo... is this correct??

Ok, thanks for taking the time to try and answer my question. Still not 100 % sure yet... this is how I understand it: Track 1: - will be activated by default - if you select for example (AC3) 5.1 as input for Track 1 you can select in Track 1 Mix to what HB should convert it (for example stereo). Re: Sighhh... Interlaced, Telecine
I haven't noticed any problems when using VFR/Detelecine on a PAL DVD. (I've done about 8 of them now). What kind of problems/artifacts would I be looking for? And the forbidden question (guess I'm the first one to ask..) any e.t.a. on 0.9.3 (with the auto-detect feature in it)? Will that be days/we...
