i changed rf number to 23 in the selected hq720 preset. i think if i leave it by default that's when the larger than sorce issue happend iirc

correction - it's not bigger than source but it's almost as same size as original which is weird

without choosing video quality (rf number) leaving it the way it is, can i just convert to x265? i'm asking cuz when i tried to covert a random video i downloaded, output file size became larger than source. i'm guessing it's cuz of this setting

1. what metadata does pass thru common metadata option pass ?
2. some output files are marked mp4 and some m4v. it doesn't really matter right ?

suggestion - add rf number and a status saying if the video is being cropped or not in summary window

removing nahimic fixed my issue. btw i notice little delay when opening handbrake unlike previous version. it's no big deal though

i think it's a wrong black bar detection by handbrake. i took a snapshot of mostly white frame using vlc and i didn't see any black bars. i hope it's a right way to check

why is height 708. i didn't change anything. all i did was choosing a preset and checking every tab and saw this

thank you all. i'm curious if there's any software or anything that scans for corrupt video files. i have an old hdd with some movies, i wish there's a way to scan it to see if they are not corrupted or anything

my handbrake save folder contains some videos which i stopped before finishing encode. anyway to identify those videos ?

1. if i understand correctly "add foreign audio scan" option in subtitles, scan the audio file to see if there is any foreign language and add selected language subtitles if there is and don't add any if there isn't right ? how does it recognize foreign audio separated from English? 2. is ...
