Re: Mouse/Scrolling is choppy when Handbrake window is in focus
I had already tried that, but it must have required a restart because that seems to have taken it away. Thank you.

Mouse/Scrolling is choppy when Handbrake window is in focus
I noticed that whenever Handbrake is open and it is the in-focus window, the mouse and scrolling becomes super choppy as if my refresh rate has dropped in half. Opening any other window, minimizing Handbrake, or just clicking an already open window, even if Handbrake is still open will cause the pro...

Re: Limiting bitrate using NVenc
Also, is it normal to still be at 100% CPU usage while GPU encoding?

Re: Limiting bitrate using NVenc
I would like to keep sizes reasonable, but the main concern would just be bitrate as I want to be able to direct play them remotely without transcoding, and my connections are limited to 8Mbps each.

Re: Limiting bitrate using NVenc
The audio sync issue only happened when I tried using the same advanced option from my x264 settings. So, there is no way to predict bitrate with NVenc, and I would just have to play with the Constant Quality option every time until I get the correct bitrate? Would setting the avg bitrate in Handbra...

Limiting bitrate using NVenc
I currently encode all of my movies for remote sharing to limit their bitrate because of upload limitations. For my H264 encodes I use the advanced option "rc-lookahead=40:b-adapt=2:me=tesa:vbv-maxrate=6000:vbv-bufsize=12000" which seems to work great. I am interested in testing GPU encodi...

Re: CPU vs Nvidia GPU for pre-encoding at 8Mbps
Thank you for the input. I thought maybe there might be a general consensus as to how big of a deal the trade off is. I will try a couple and see how it changes.

CPU vs Nvidia GPU for pre-encoding at 8Mbps
I am pre-encoding (correct term?) movies for streaming with Emby from my NAS to prevent the NAS having to transcode on the fly. With my current internet speeds, I am encoding them to stay below 8Mbps with AAC audio. I played around a little with using the GPU instead of CPU to do the encoding, and t...

Re: Constant Quality vs Avg Bitrate at equal bitrates
You should be using vbv to cap bitrate peaks for streaming, and letting the constant RF do what it needs otherwise. This sounds like how I would like to handle it, but I'm not familiar enough with how to use the vbv parameter. Could you point me in the direction of a relevant guide? How does vbv wo...

Re: Constant Quality vs Avg Bitrate at equal bitrates
Thanks for the replies. I'm not having problems with studdering or anything. I'm just trying to limit the bitrate so I'm not over-taxing my internet connection, and my NAS doesn't have to transcode all the time. I am fine with some variations in quality as long as it is all still decent.

Constant Quality vs Avg Bitrate at equal bitrates
I am in the process of converting all of my movies over to a smaller bitrate to allow for streaming on my Emby server using my limited bandwidth. To avoid the cpu strain of constant transcoding, I have used HB to convert all the movies to limit the bitrate, which has worked great. On all of the guid...
