Is there a way to remove the SDH subs from the output file?
I've set a preference the first track to match the selected subs language (English), hoping that this will result the output file to have only English subs without the SDH label. But I haven't tested it yet, so if that's not how it's done, is there any other way to instruct handbrake to ignore the S...

Re: Just some feedback about the latest version :)
different encoding Just like what Handbrake does. :) You set video bitrate to 5000 kbps but the output is never 5000 kbps, it's always around 4800-4900 kbps. If you want it closer to 5000, you have to set it to 5050 or 5100. Which makes me think the torrent episodes were converted with Handbrake, o...

Re: Just some feedback about the latest version :)
Performance hasn't changed in any significant way, so what you're comparing is different settings. The settings are the same as they have always been! I have my own preset of H265 which I use for all conversions. 2-3 months ago such a conversion took 3 times longer than it does now - with the same ...

Just some feedback about the latest version :)
I am, to say the least, very impressed with the new version that was released recently! Things that the old versions needed 20-30 minutes to do, the new version does the same things in 10 minutes tops without any difference in the output quality between then and now! For instance, since I'...

Re: [question] Is there a way to tell HB to ignore SDH subtitles when creating the output file?
I was right after all - I've been looking in the wrong place. Click the X on the SDH subs track to remove it, leaves the output file with the desired subs track.
Still, thanks for the willingness to help, rolling_eng.

Re: [question] Is there a way to tell HB to ignore SDH subtitles when creating the output file?
I think I found it way but I'll have to convert a file in order to confirm. I've been looking in the wrong place. Until now I've been looking in "Track selection" ("Subtitles" tab) when I should have been looking in "Track list". I'll remove the track that is supposedly...

[question] Is there a way to tell HB to ignore SDH subtitles when creating the output file?
I tried choosing different options in the subs tab but every time the output file ends up with all available english subs, including the SDH subs which are meant for deaf people. But I'm not deaf and I don't need them. Not that I need subs in principle but I keep english subs in the output file just...

Re: Handbrake doesn't remember the source folder after today's packages update
Handbrake compiled from source (taken from HB's page) still doesn't remember the source directory. However, I found a workaround and hopefully you'll fix that problem some day in the next 10 years so. Simply add the desired source dir to the bookmarks of the file manager which bookmarks also appear ...

Re: Handbrake doesn't remember the source folder after today's packages update
I can't edit my previous post to add an answer to you: it's similar but it's not the same. In my case every single press of "open source" button opens the home directory instead of the last used directory.

Re: Handbrake doesn't remember the source folder after today's packages update
is listed as a "known broken" distribution.   It's broken only to incompetent users who don't know how to install and/or use it. Arch is idiot proof but it's not idiot friendly and that's most probably the reason it has been listed as a "known broken distribution"...

Handbrake doesn't remember the source folder after today's packages update
Description of problem or question: After package update in the last 2 days Handbrake stopped remembering the source folder and now if I wanna convert the whole season of a TV show, I have to manually browse the folder path to each episode in order to add it in the queue. That WASN'T a problem 3 da...

So, if the source has AC3 and I wanna keep it that way, I have to untick the AC3 checkbox?

Re: [question] How to skip reenconding audio track?
That still doesn't tell me how to have audio track "same as source" - an option that other programs have which basically copies the source audio instead of reencoding it.

[question] How to skip reenconding audio track?
The movie (usually a mkv file) has an AC3 audio track and I don't want it to be reencoded (just the video). I tried skipping settings for audio but it gets reenconded despite that. If I click the X button on the audio track, then the output mkv has no audio track. Any suggestions on how tell Handbra...

Re: H265 NVEnc - Win vs Linux
The HandBrake version in the AUR repository is not supported by the HandBrake team. Sounds like they've done something dodgy there. The main thing to make sure is a recent proprietary nvidia driver is installed. I know what AUR is. The thing is that after installing the package from AUR, NVEnc appe...

Re: H265 NVEnc - Win vs Linux
There's a little development on the matter I'm passing by to mention - in case someone else encounters that problem. 1. On the website it says there is H265 NVEnc support and that it can be found under the video tab. I thought it was the video tab in preferences but as it turned out moments ago, it ...

H265 NVEnc - Win vs Linux
Is there any particular reason H265 NVEnc is available for the Windows version but not for the Linux version? Is there any way I can make Handbrake in Linux use GPU conversion? Like an additional library or something?
HB version is 1.3.3 (the one currently on the website), if it matters.
