Re: Handbrake dubbing on my Mac just slowed WAY down
Yeah these are SD over-the-air quality recordings in most cases. Long way from 4K or UHD, or regular HD for that matter. Most aren't even in stereo. Another question: if I'm running MakeMKV for discs while Handbrake is busy burning the MKV files I've already created... if I do both those things the ...

Re: Handbrake dubbing on my Mac just slowed WAY down
So I took the advice to give MakeMKV another try. It does speed things up, though things still aren't as fast as when Handbrake does it fast all by itself. Do I have to save the file from the MakeMkV file first and then feed it to Handbrake? Or is there to do it directly through MakeMKV that allows ...

Re: Handbrake dubbing on my Mac just slowed WAY down
Yes, but what I'm asking is -- what would a likely cause(s) be if I have all the same settings as I did the day before, and the dub rate suddenly slowed down dramatically?

Re: Handbrake dubbing on my Mac just slowed WAY down
I don't have past logs because it was running fine before. Are there any settings that would dramatically speed up or slow down the dub without risking quality drop?

Re: I will PAY for Handbrake support/tutor -- please contact me
I'm glad some people find it works for them. I remain at a loss why someone who knows this software well wouldn't be up for a few bucks (or more) to walk me through my problem. No one said it had to be top-secret. Happy to share the findings here. But if they're so worried about having "their h...

Re: I will PAY for Handbrake support/tutor -- please contact me
I tried downloading and purchasing DVDFab last night, but ran into a number of hurdles. And frankly, I was dubious of where I was about to send my payment info. Things seemed very sketchy. I'm at a loss to understand why someone who knows Handbrake can't just walk me through some basic adjustments f...

Re: I will PAY for Handbrake support/tutor -- please contact me
I would be VERY open to ideas for more appropriate (and easy) alternates. Handbrake was the software sugggested to me by experts at B&H in New York. And so far, I haven't found anything better.

Re: I will PAY for Handbrake support/tutor -- please contact me
Having looked at makemkv , it seems like there are a lot of issues with that software skipping anything under 120 seconds. I'm looking for less drama with my dubs, not more.

Re: DVD that plays won't ingest into EDD via HandBrake
THANK YOU! I disabled libdvdnav as you suggested, and it worked. I also downloaded MakeMKV but wasn't sure how to use it. So unless MakeMKV somehow kicked in on its own and helped, it looks like disabling libdvdnav did the trick! Really appreciate it!

DVD that plays won't ingest into EDD via HandBrake
Description of problem or question: Hi, I've dubbed hundreds of DVD with two hours of old SD television airchecks, but one simply won't launch. It plays in the DVD players I use, but just won't take, when I try to ingest into an external hard drive via HandBrake. Other DVDs have worked fine before ...
