Dual Graphics
Hello all, I have a PC that has the onboard Intel HD 630 graphics, as well as discrete AMD Radeon graphics. Is there any way to use both when transcoding videos? Right now the AMD Radeon is the default and it will only handle up to 3 video transcodes. I would love to see the Intel kick in and work o...

Default Path for Input Files
Hello all,
I set default path for the output of my work but it seems its also the default input path?? It seems to come up by default when I open Handbrake and want to load a file for transcode. Is this normal?

Re: Using QSV H.265
Ideally a remux would work but I would like to save the space using H.265. A typical 1.2 gig video file is actually 600 meg with H.265.

Re: Using QSV H.265
I am converting it from H.264(MKV) to H.265(MP4). This allows all the streaming devices I use to play a compatible file.

Re: Using QSV H.265
For TV shows is this a noticeable difference from using the QSV H.265? I would assume you are using the standard H.265 setting? I am taking H.264 video files and converting them to H.265.

Using QSV H.265
I don't know if you want to pin this but you might... For those of you using QSV H.265 on Windows please check your hardware presets. I was defaulting to General/Fast 1080p30. While that works for what I use Handbrake for, making one tiny change doubled my transcode performance. All you need to do ...

Re: H265 QSV Transcode
Its very interesting that the iGPU maxes out the 3D, while the actual video decode is minimal.

Re: H265 QSV Transcode
Aha...thank you for that. I also am seeing that even if the CPU is 65-80% used its not maxing the CPU. My 8th gen NUC starts at 2.7GHZ and can burst to 4.5GHZ. The CPU usage is around 1.9GHZ.

H265 QSV Transcode
Hello all, I am transcoding from H264 to H265, using the QSV option in Handbrake. I see my Intel iGPU is being used but the CPU is also being used. I was under the impression that using the QSV option will only use the iGPU. Is this not true? While the iGPU is busy about 80% the CPU is fluctuating b...

Re: Batch Scan Issue
Ok the screenshot shows my folder structure. I pointed Handbrake at the TV Shows folder, bc below it are the TV shows that I want to convert from MKV to MP4. As shown TV Shows folder opens to multiple TV shows, and then below one of the TV shows you will see the Season. In the Season folder is the a...

Batch Scan Issue
Hello all, I am running Handbrake 1.6.1 on my Windows 11(22H2) PC. I am trying to transcode video files that exist on a network share to my NAS. I can pull up the share and the file system to transcode, but Handbrake errors out that there are no valid source or titles found. If I look at the activit...

Re: Trancode Without Losing Quality
I am using Plex to playback on my Fire devices, and what I am finding is that the MKV is transcoded on the fly for these devices, whereas my Nvidia Shield does not transcode. Since my daughter is accessing remotely I want to keep her transcoding to a minimum.

Trancode Without Losing Quality
Hello all,
I use a number of Amazon Fire Sticks in my home, for media streaming. Most of my media content is in MKV. I would like to transcode to MP4 without losing any quality, ie just converting the wrapper. Is there a default config for this type of work?
Thanks,
Steve
