The difference is that in the old version of HB, the profile setting was ghosted/negated by using the advanced settings.

fdkaac.exe / fdkaac.dll is HE-AAC?

In Handbrake 0.10.3 (the last version with FDK available) it shows HE-AAC (FDK) in the list of audio options - is this not fdkaac.exe / fdkaac.dll ?

This makes sense and has always been the normal behavior for as long as I have been using it.

Are there any recent comparisons?

Around a year ago (or maybe more) most comparisons seemed to acknowledge that x265 was producing smaller results but the image was not as sharp (often appearing softer).

First audio track is originally English DTS or AC-3 5.1 640kb/s but I want to encode this as AC-3 384kb/s - no issue with this, works fine.
