I've just gone back and re-tried - just the first 30 secs of the film. It does show subs but immediately and out of synch and then runs through one after the other including up to those that should come in at 3 mins plus. It also shows not just the sub but the time it should be on for ie: "5 00...

Yes, did go through preferences but do not have an option there. However, I did find as you said 'saving as' gives the option - defaulted to UTF-8 which I chose and re-saved but after another test still the same - no subs appearing.

Thank you - I have downloaded Jubler and opened the file but cannot see where to change the 'UTF-8' etc??

Thanks - I did go into 'updates' on HB and it said no update available?
I have left the subtitle options unchanged - these are defaulted as you say to ENGLISH and UTF-8

Description of problem or question: Trying to add imported .srt file to film but subs do not show. I have cleared the other subtitle tracks and chosen the .srt file and selected to burn in.
