Process isolation - How does it work?
I have installed version 1.4.2. Firewall warns me that "Handbrake is trying to connect to the internet" I can understand that it is due to "Process isolation" function. I have tried to read the documentation for this https://handbrake.fr/docs/en/latest/technical/process-isolation...

Re: Will future Handbrake versions perform better with Ryzen CPUs?
"C" (Passmark ) is one thing i disagree - it might also shows the future potential (mostly in gaming (yawn) ) for the CPU All other things (a & B) I agree and already knew ;) But the one thing which matter in this context is that the two CPUs are very similar in performance despite of ...

Will future Handbrake versions perform better with Ryzen CPUs?
Intel encodes(NB software) better than Ryzen, even though that the Ryzen in almost every other disciplinses beats the Intel CPUs (possibly because INTELS CPUs have some techniques called AVX and OpenCL - I'm not sure) But will the the difference be less over time when we see future updates from Hand...

Re: Maybe outdated results in "Handbrake Documentation" (Performance)
There must be some reason that someone developed the .265 format
But you never can tell (as they say) - But maybe someone could drop some documentation as i did

Re: Maybe outdated results in "Handbrake Documentation" (Performance)
Thanks for your update But do you think that your source test file in the mentioned article was representative? I have done a quite a few test on my own and I have never seen that the file-size of HEVC was almost the same as the .264. In fact I thought that it was a common fact that the .265 was abo...

Maybe outdated results in "Handbrake Documentation" (Performance)
This is about this Native Handbrake Documentation https://handbrake.fr/docs/en/latest/technical/performance.html, -> Section: "Performance comparison between video encoders" The results in "file size"are (quote): Official Preset: "H. 265 MKV 1080p30" = 466.3 MB "H....

Re: Benchmarks with same Videofile and "preset" - Would you like to help?
Have you seen this topic? https://forum.handbrake.fr/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=36048 Now I have ;) - Thanks Maybe it's a bit too "muddy" and complicated (command line encoding) - We would like to have some tests through ;) I'm also a little more interested in H.265 encoding. I also don't mi...

Benchmarks with same Videofile and "preset" - Would you like to help?
Video and photo editing are two "tough" tasks for CPUs and gives a good indication of the strength of the CPU. It is difficult to find comparative benchmark results for several generations of CPUs, apart from Gaming benchmark. This is my point for this posting to focus on Video Encoding Be...

Re: Want to Batch encode 28 video files
Good point - and the answer is yes - OR more precisely:- but only a script with can do "take the first audio track and convert it to AAC 96k mono" and take "x" sub track (here It varies) - This I need one time (with about 25 files) in a week - so it could be good with such a script

Re: Want to Batch encode 28 video files
OK, changing the rules. So, now you want 1 audio and 1 subtitle stream. -a 1 -E av_aac -B 96 -6 mono --subtitle 4 I'd suggest executing handbrakecli with the --help parameter, and direct the output to a file that you can review. Pretty much every setting available in your current version of the CLI...

Re: Request for (cpu-)benchmarks
What a Great and a good idea with this kind of test. I would also like to know if it could be the time to change my I5-2500K after 8 years. Unfortunately, I think that thread starters already make the test too complicated in very fist tread. AND afterwards, it is only going to be more complicated - ...
