HandBrake

I found that the package and instructions found here http://stupidpupil.co.uk/opensolaris/handbrake/ worked for me on OpenSolaris. I'm getting about 45fps with the AppleTV preset on an Athlon X2 3.0GHz w/ 2GB DDR3 RAM.

*Of course, I'm running OpenSolaris 2009.06 now.

I actually did this last night. I selected the Apple TV preset, moved CQ to 62% and locked framerate at 29.97. My AppleTV liked the resulting encode just fine. There is a new option in Quicktime to export "Movie to Apple TV".

I'll have to play with that later on. I'm curious to see what it means for Handbrake.
