Aye. That's what I just did. Concatenating the un-transcoded source seems to have produced no frame oddities.
I'd still leave this request on the table, if only because it has potential in saving one or two hours of processing time.

[Feature Request] Concatenate-and-transcode (or vice-versa)
Description of problem or question I was just wondering--and I apologise if this has been asked before--if there are any plans to include an option to concatenate/append two or more files with like number of audio, video, and/or subtitle tracks (with like number of channels, in the case of audio). ...

Re: Odd behaviour in output after frame-accurate trim
So I tried a different method: I ripped the source via MakeMKV, used MKVToolNix to demux the TrueHD tracks, used the JRiver Media Center to convert them to FLAC, muxed them back in, and then used HandBrake to do the frame-accurate trimming and transcoding (with audio mode on both tracks set to Auto ...

Re: Odd behaviour in output after frame-accurate trim
It is, but let me re-phrase: I don't need it. JRiver already plays and indexes everything. I have MPC-HC--which, to my knowledge, has basically the same capability as VLC--for only two reasons: It has fairly robust seeking features--to include frame seeking, forwards and backwards--as well as a Go t...

I tried it in both JRiver and MPC-HC. I don't have VLC.

Re: Odd behaviour in output after frame-accurate trim
Well. Tried ripping/converting a portion of the source with FLAC Passthru set as audio output, but the resulting tracks are silent. Not sure what to make of that. Any ideas? Ohh, wait.
Is that to say that if I re-encode to FLAC or something, it'll work?

Is it possible that Handbrake will one day be able to split audio frames?

Re: Odd behaviour in output after frame-accurate trim
VideoReDo would be awesome, but it strips subtitle tracks. I actually made an inquiry about that with them and they told me that it's possible to add the feature, but that there's not enough demand for vobsubs and PGS subs in MKV's to justify the work load required. HandBrake is fine, especially sin...

Odd behaviour in output after frame-accurate trim
Description of problem or question This actually concerns the same source as that in my previous issue . In spite of frame-accurate trimming during Blu-ray rip (AnyDVD HD was used again), output file retains two or three seconds' worth of audio after the trim point, where the video seems to either ...

Re: Hang at 00.00%
I trimmed the first minute out with MKVToolNix and then added it to HandBrake. First, I set the range mode to Seconds and told it to encode the last thirty seconds. The process started and completed successfully. I then added that minute to HandBrake again, set the range mode to Frames , and told it...

Re: Hang at 00.00%
The operation above ran for at least forty minutes with no progress.
Based on operations with other sources with similar attributes (resolution, et cetera), it shouldn't take more than three to seven to get through those 20,000 frames.

Re: Hang at 00.00%
Also, if need be, I can upload the resulting rip to my OneDrive afterwards and share a download link here, if any of you would like it for testing. Does this mean an encode is successful? I meant the MakeMKV rip. If we're on the same page, then yes, MakeMKV successfully rips the title in question f...

Re: Hang at 00.00%
How about ripping to mkv with makemkv then HB? MakeMKV is what I tried, so yes. The MacGUI shows the progress of "searching for start point", does the WinGUI do that too? If so, then is that progress counter also stuck on 0.00%? It usually shouldn't take 20 minutes, but frame-based encodi...

Yes. My apologies. I discovered this later, after I opened this thread: Problem appears to be source-specific , on both the latest stable release and the nightlies.
