I have done more testing with the latest driver and it's far better than previous version. I still get a few failures, but it's a huge difference.

The latest Intel driver 15.65.3.4944 (Feb 13, 2018) seems more stable. My initial test I get far fewer failures with Hadbrake. Will do more testing next couple of days.

I tried having my iso files locally but it doesn't make any difference. Updated to nightly build from jan ja 7 and intel drivers from dec 28. Still get same error random places. Sometimes I now have to try 10+ times on each file before it succeeds.

Would something like MediaInfo work for you? It tells you every little detail about the codecs, streams etc of a file.

I see this regularly. The solution I have is to go to Advanced in the Preferences and toggle the LibDVDNav setting. That will now open the file properly. Then I change the setting back. Just to confirm - it fails on the same files if QSV DECODE is disabled? It would be a shame if a lot of effort is going into tracking down a problem with the QSV encoder if the root problem is the QSV decoder feeding it bad information.... I don't have "Enable QuickSync Decoding" selected...

I added full log and everything but an admin deleted my post. I will get another log.

May not apply to you but if you care about closed caption tracks, they are stripped off by MakeMKV, which makes that program a no-go for me

I submitted a full log and more thorough description in a separate thread but it was deleted by admin. See if I can find it again. Second DVD tried and now got the error I got before:

"Error code -21, hb_qsv_wait_on_sync 602"

What I did was uninstalling the 4877 driver and then installing 4771. Maybe I need to do a more thorough cleanup?
