Re: 4K UHD conversion.

Out of curiosity: is it planned for Handbrake to pass through the metadata?

Re: Storage size changed

I checked the DVDs I had converted during the previous months. It appears that their size has been changed, too. E.g. if a DVD had a display size of 1024x426, the converted file had a display size of 1024x576. I wonder whether this means that the picture has been scaled (so that something is missing...

Re: Storage size changed

Thank you again. Out of curiosity: why did the storage size of 720x306 affect all my Blu-rays but none of my DVDs? I would have guessed that DVDs with a higher resolution would have been affected as well but that is seemingly not true.

Re: Storage size changed

Thank you! Ok, that means I will have to encode my Blu-rays again. I looked through my collection to see when things went wrong. When I did this, I noticed that all Blu-rays in fact have a resolution of 720x306 (with slight changes) while my DVDs have all varieties of resolutions from 622x480 to 768...

Re: Storage size changed

Sorry, one additional question: does this mean that all my videos encoded under the wrong storage size are distorted because I forced a specific size on them that may not fit all (e.g. some movies are 1,77:1, others 2,35:1)? Or does this only mean they are of lower quality which will become apparent...

Re: Storage size changed

O, thanks. I am certain that for some time, Handbrake did automatically adjust the resolution based on the file. If I loaded a DVD file, it automatically chose another resolution than when I loaded a Blu-ray file. I wonder if this will still be the case after i "hard code" the resolution o...

Re: Storage size changed

Thank you for your quick answer! I know I can't upscale a DVD to a Blu-ray. I have also realized I accidentally posted a wrong activity log (that belonged to a DVD). Sorry for that. I just copied the file from the Blu-ray "Miss Sloane" into my queue. Please find attached the log of this ac...

Storage size changed

Description of problem or question: More than two years ago, I created my own preset that has more or less identical settings to the SuperHQ 1080p30 setting (which at the time didn't exist). I imported files with iFlicks2 into iTunes, and converted Blu-rays got an "HD" tag from iFlicks. A...

Re: How to process all files in the queue without stopping?

It's time for an update. I took my old MacBook Pro, enabled screen sharing and chose the energy savings option "never sleep" for both CPU and the screen. Afterwards, I accessed my Mac Mini and started a queue. Since the MacBook Pro would hold connection to the Mac Mini indefinitely, the qu...

Re: How to process all files in the queue without stopping?

Ok, I have absolutely no clue. Here is how it used to work before High Sierra: My Mac Mini is used headless, I access it via screen sharing with my MacBook Pro. Handbrake is installed on my Mac Mini. My usual workflow was: I logged in via screen sharing, created a queue, clicked "start queue&qu...

Re: How to process all files in the queue without stopping?

I have made three additional observations: 1. Usually, Handbrake stops after it has encoded a file. When I log into my account, Handbrake automatically starts encoding the next file. I don't have to push a button. 2. Strangely, sometimes it works and Handbrake encodes all files in a queue. I don't k...

Re: How to process all files in the queue without stopping?

Since I upgraded to High Sierra, I am encountering the same problem. It doesn't matter whether I click on the "Start" button in the queue manager or in the main application window (it didn't matter before the upgrade either - it just worked). At first, I thought this was due to the fact th...
