so a question as to why?!

So you get AAC 5.1/6... How is that really more beneficial than just having the AC3 track on a converted AVI. I ripped X-Men 2 in an atttempt to get the 5.1 and, on the Mac Mini, using M-Audio's Transit USB, nada... nothing coming across as multi-channel. The AC3 one... not a problem. So, I have a s...

current branch broken build

Devs, three directories for the Mac OS X build are horked in the source, "slightly" repairable by creating softlinks in the contrib directory and removing the "rm -r" from the contrib Jamfile libdvdread xvidcore mpeg2dec since the tar files extract with the version number, the bu...

branches for major feature diffs

The fork for the AAC 5.1 was a good example of a useful branch, however, there must be a stop point to where a PoC is tested enough to justify rolling it back to the trunk. A good model for some of this is the FreeBSD team's release and testing. Try contacting a few on the release engineering team t...

ditto

At least if you're going to need a user community to stress test things, at least having a few known users that will provide usefull bug reports on those releases would be a good idea. (I'm personally int he middl eof a huge ripping and digitizing project, so I'll more than likely be able to give da...

so call me a n00b d00fus

okay, so I was running the trunk, any chance of getting the SVN address for the "current" branch... I've read about too many forks (including the 5.1 AAC one) in the boards to keep track of. (I'm also not an IRC guy, so I'm taking what I can get from the antiquated message boards ;-) Thanks.

OS X Contrib Binaries Location

Hi All... First, congrats on the project merge. Second... I hate to bug, but during the move and shuffle, the location of the contributed binaries package used for OS X builds went missing (at least using the 451 tagged SVN checkout). Just wonder if the project overlords may restore that sometime so...
