Re: Auto Separating Chapters to Files from DVD

I assume {chapters} was set in preferences, not the destination box. I think we might have a winner here :) Apologies all round for having brain in neutral. With lower case in preferences I now get the file naming, after a fashion. Previously I had Destination file:- 6104 01 Hinduism Disk 1-{Title}...

Thank you. That is what I have done. Why do you think otherwise?

Sorry to be so dumb. Not familiar with Pastebin but I think I have it now. The above links should work. If you need more info please let me know.
Thank you once more for helping.

Re: Auto Separating Chapters to Files from DVD

Just post your log here. Activity log is 31.9 KiB and encode log is 16.9 KiB. Not keen to try and post. The instructions to which you referred me state "share its link with your intended recipient(s)" If you don't use Dropbox do you have a preferred alternative which is more open? How do ...

Re: Auto Separating Chapters to Files from DVD

No problem and thanks for the link. I usually use dropbox which is one of those included in the instructions. I need an email address with which to share the files. Please advise what address I should use.

Re: Auto Separating Chapters to Files from DVD

Hi and thanks for the reply. I understand but note that 1.0.7-1.36 is now available from repo site. I have un-installed all the repo versions and installed the official version of HB from tarball. A bit out of my depth here but there are logs in the ~/HandBrake-1.0.7/build directory as follows:- pro...

Re: Auto Separating Chapters to Files from DVD

Thanks Woodstock. My Fileformat spec is in my original post and includes {Chapters}. It does not work. Will play around a bit. I am presently ripping video DVDs and have a similar problem. I can see the chapter markers on the player (VLC) progress bar but cannot move to them or get any chapter namin...

Re: Auto Separating Chapters to Files from DVD

Hi and thanks. My only problem is that if I try and queue chapters 1 to 1, 2 to 2, 3 to 3,...etc I get the "another queued job has specified the same destination so it looks like I have to name each file separately before I rip.
Surely I am doing something wrong.

Re: Auto Separating Chapters to Files from DVD

Hi and thanks for the replies. I was hoping to avoid the need to enter range for each chapter but understand situation and just get on with it. Exactly what does the Auto Name Plate do in these circumstances. Does it just count and name Chapter 1, Chapter 2, etc?
Thanks again,

Auto Separating Chapters to Files from DVD

Please detail your question or problem in as much detail as possible: My objective is to create flac audio files for each chapter in a Video DVD of an opera performance so that I end up with a similar set of files to those I would have obtained if I had ripped an audio CD. I am using Handbrake firs...

Re: Compilation Fails: find: xcodebuild...(fail) not found ...

Hi John,
Sorry I didn't see the docs to which you refer at the start of all this and thanks again for the package list.
I did have some issues getting the installation to the right place but I think that is an openSUSE issue. All is now well.
Thanks again,
Budge

Re: Compilation Fails: find: xcodebuild...(fail) not found ...

Hi John, It did and it works. Many many thanks for helping me with this, for putting up with my ignorance and also for the brief tutorials. I owe you a bottle of wine. One last question:- You said at the start you built HandBrake in an openSUSE VM. How on earth did all the additional required librar...

Re: Compilation Fails: find: xcodebuild...(fail) not found ...

Hi John, Checked my installation and the libdvdnav-devel and libbluray-devel were missing. Added these and make ran without any errors. Then went to sudo make install which gave me :- /usr/bin/cp ./HandBrakeCLI /usr/local/bin/HandBrakeCLI make -C ./gtk/ prefix=/usr/local install make[1]: Entering di...

Re: Compilation Fails: find: xcodebuild...(fail) not found ...

Hi John, Can use vi or vim and at first assumed that I was to insert your lines into the main.defs file but I couldn't work out where they went. I was looking for the relevant "if" to start the conditional statement to go with the endif. I think I see it now. As I said, not a coder. So my ...

Re: Compilation Fails: find: xcodebuild...(fail) not found ...

Hi John, Installed this last bunch of tools and ran make. A very impressive process but not quite there it seems. Re: Compilation Fails: find: xcodebuild...(fail) not found ...

Hi John, Many thanks and noted. All a bit over my head but I shall try and repeat with a new 42.2 installation.
