Re: Encoder Presets are confusing
Since it appears that the presets are provided by Nvidia and nobody seems to know what they do, I've decided to test them myself. I encoded a 130-minute video using the same settings, only changing the preset. Quality was set to constant (20 QP). CPU: i9 9900k GPU: RTX 2080 Ti Results are formatted ...

Encoder Presets are confusing
I've noticed that Handbrake 1.2.2 (and possibly older versions) has an "Encoder Preset" slider. I understand what that slider does, but the presets themselves are confusing me. From left to right, those presets are: High Quality High Performance Fast Medium Slow Default I understand that H...

Having troubles encoding a couple of Bluray
I have ripped 2 Blurays with MakeMKV and am now trying to encode them, because 24 GB is quite a lot. I'm using Handbrake 1.1.2 on Windows 10 (v1809), but I can't seem to encode either Bluray right. Basically, Handbrake does 2 passes on each, a subtitle scan and the actual encoding. Subtitle scan app...

Re: Can't detect H.265 QSV encoder when UWD installed
Sorry, I didn't think a feature detection problem would have anything to do with the activity log, but here you go: When it still worked: https://pastebin.com/VGGWxtmw After it stopped working: https://pastebin.com/ukt2jxe2 The only thing that really changed in between is that I installed Intel's br...

Re: Can't detect H.265 QSV encoder when UWD installed
Thanks. I don't often rip stuff, so I haven't put much thought on optimizing my workflow yet. Since I still have lots of DVDs to rip, I'll have a look at MakeMKV later, when my current queue is finished.
I just wanted to say that Handbrake can't detect H.265 QSV with Intel's new UWD drivers.

Can't detect H.265 QSV encoder when UWD installed
I've been ripping all my DVD in order to build my own video library on my NAS. Yesterday, I saw news that Intel released new graphics drivers. Apparently, these drivers make use of the new UWD (Universal Windows Driver) platform. All non-UWD drivers are now considered "legacy". Since I lik...

Re: HandBrake 1.0.0 Discussion Thread
What happened to HandbrakeCLI.exe? I've used it as part of an automated process chain for downloading newly released videos, transcoding them, and uploading them to OneDrive so I could stream them on my phone. All without having to interact with my PC. Still there as a seperate download. It's just ...
