Re: Convert video files with the same properties as when inputted

CRF (Constant Quality) set at 0 is pretty much what you need to get the same video quality as inputted. But it is kind of pointless, as the resulted file will be much, much larger when what was originally inputted, unless you have plenty of storage available. Just to tell you, CRF is what controls q...

Re: [Implemented] VP9 support

New Years Eve 2016 and the VP9 speed is still terrible. It manages to reach about 50% usage on 2 threads out of 12 on my i7-4930k for a total CPU usage of around 10%. It's so sad this can't be used to full effect. I upload so much stuff to YouTube and I hate seeing it get re-encoded every time :( J...

Re: No Valid Source when trying a Folder of AVI files

It can't access the folder with files for some reason. What path do you use to access it in handbrake? " path=\\media\CamCorder" implies that you don't use a folder from your hard drive, maybe?

Re: Issue transcoding Video_TS file

I used the same Video_TS files ripped by AnyDVD with a trial version of DVDfab and DVDfab encoded the file perfectly, so, I don't think it was scratched or ripped improperly. You may try to rip your TS files with DVDfab as well. Then try to put them in Handbrake, if it works, then it means that Any...

Re: Handbrake Works fine - I just need a little help understanding my results

Your log says: " Title is likely interlaced or telecined (5 out of 10 previews). You should do something about that." Try to use different deinterlacing method. Or alternatively, try to turn off deinterlacing and turn on Detelecine. Go to "Filters", in the checkbox near the word "Deinterlace" choose...

Re: HandBrake 1.0.0 Discussion Thread

Okay, fine then. May I ask what is the difference between Decomb and Yadif filters in the new version? I thought that Decomb uses yadif while deinterlacing or something.

Re: HandBrake 1.0.0 Discussion Thread

Guys, the main page offers to download version 1.0.1, yet it says in the news that the latest version is 1.0.0. Also 1.0.1 thread - viewtopic.php?f=33&p=166787#p166787 leads to this thread

Re: HEVC quality vs speed slider, much trial and error!

Think of RF as a relative quality metric. If you leave all other encoder settings the same, lower RF will result in higher quality. But if you change even a single other encoder setting, the meaning of RF changes and can no longer be used for meaningful comparisons with encodes that were performed w...

Re: HEVC quality vs speed slider, much trial and error!

From the instruction I have read on this site - https://mattgadient.com/2013/06/12/a-best-settings-guide-for-handbrake-0-9-9/ (recommend you to read it as well, by the way), what I understood was that speed slider doesn't really affect anything quality wise much (unless you choose the fast or especi...
