Sure; one would need to create a temporary file, etc.
Is there somewhere a tutorial for how to use HB in this way?
Another approach might be a batch script (a .bat file) which invokes HB in a command line. Then one could do the renaming as required.

Batch converting files
Hello All, I have a load of mp4 files which were rendered for about 50mbps, and I cannot play them at this bitrate via our system (a Humax T2 HD recorder with an ethernet port, feeding a Sony TV). The absolute max I can squeeze out of it is 15mbps, which is still ok for quality. They are 1920x1080 5...

Re: Can Handbrake do lens correction?
I seem to recall seeing some 3rd party plug-ins for Handbrake, suggesting there is some sort of API for this.

Can Handbrake do lens correction?
I am using a Sony FDR-X3000 action camera to do various flying videos e.g. https://vimeo.com/user8026275 Previously I used the X1000. These all suffer from varying degrees of barrel distortion. There doesn't seem to be a way to correct this "exactly" although one guy posting here http://co...

Re: Is there a lossless setting for merging 4GB Sony AVC chunks?
I have now tested AviDemux and Machete. Both work great. AviDemux has a much better user interface than Machete, however, for merging files. With both programs one has to add each input file individually (there is no "import all" option) but with Machete (which is not free, despite the dev...

Re: SRT import - how do you size and position the text?
OK; thank you. That appears quite difficult to use. I did see the Matroska SRT spec and that was used to write the custom converter which converts Oziexplorer GPS track log into an SRT file. I would need to modify this to do the SSA tags as well, plus add some means of specifying the content on the ...

SRT import - how do you size and position the text?
Currently I am doing SRT import using Vegasaur and Vegas Pro 13. The size and font are specified in the template used to import the SRT data. The position is done by using the Track Motion feature, which moves the whole video track (the titles are placed on a separate track). If one uses Handbrake's...

Re: Is there a lossless setting for merging 4GB Sony AVC chunks?
In this case, no, each chunk is a totally standalone mp4 file. I can play each chunk with VLC, etc. Otherwise one could join them with copy /b in a DOS box :) The implementation is slightly interesting because even when the camera stops because the battery runs out, you get all valid chunks includin...

Re: Is there a lossless setting for merging 4GB Sony AVC chunks?
The camera will write whatever size of file is required, with a 4GB limit on the size of the file. This is required on FAT32 SD cards but in this case the camera does it anyway... Apparently Sony do produce a program called Play Memories Home which can do this, but it is a massive piece of bloatware...

Re: Is there a lossless setting for merging 4GB Sony AVC chunks?
They are all 4GB except the last one which is usually smaller. The stupid camera (FDR-1000V) writes them like that even though the SD card is EXFAT... The names are MAH00665.MP4 MAH00666.MP4 MAH00667.MP4 I found various free file combiners (all involving adware/malware) which might work, and one non...

Re: Is there a lossless setting for merging 4GB Sony AVC chunks?
I thought HB could take in a list of files and output one file?
Or is the list of files mode just a means of batch processing multiple files, with each one generating a new output file?
Could anyone suggest another tool?

Is there a lossless setting for merging 4GB Sony AVC chunks?
Camera: Sony FDR-1000V Format: 1080P 50FPS 25mbits/sec AVC Codec: H264-MPEG-4 AVC (Part 10) (avc1) 1920x1080 Planar 4:2:0 YUV Audio: MPEG AAC (mp4a) 48kHz (but audio can be stripped off) The reason I need to merge the chunks into one big file is that the breaks break various features in the Sony Veg...
