Re: Encoding bluray rip with Matroska H.265 or H.264 presets cause Manjaro Linux to crash/shutdown

HandBrake version (e.g., 1.0.0): HandBrake version 1.3.3-4 (installed binary from official repo) If you mean the Manjaro repo, then it's not an official HandBrake build. It may not be the cause of the crash, but it's worth trying an official build just in case. Our official Linux builds are distrib...

Re: Encoding bluray rip with Matroska H.265 or H.264 presets cause Manjaro Linux to crash/shutdown

I just tried an encode and modified a preset to use h.265 and h.264 with qsv. Both caused the crash to occur.

Re: Encoding bluray rip with Matroska H.265 or H.264 presets cause Manjaro Linux to crash/shutdown

What you describe fits the "cooling isn't enough, let's turn off to save the CPU" scenario. Do you have a CPU temperature monitor widget installed? What are your CPU temps before, at the start of the encode, and before it shuts down? Handbrake will stress your CPU more than just about any...

1.0.7 crashing when trying to encode mkv

Please detail your question or problem in as much detail as possible: When I try to run a job to encode a mkv (recent bluray rip made with makemkv 1.10.7), Handbrake 1.0.7 crashes on my system. I've tried multiple mkv files with the same result, and also tried different presets. I haven't been able...

Re: Is it possible to change default audio track after encoding

I considered that, but this is the only disc that I've had trouble with. Also, the blu ray drive is brand new and was the top rated model on Amazon. Maybe it needs a firmware update. I'll look into that next.

Re: Is it possible to change default audio track after encoding

Thanks for all the suggestions. I've been getting into using MakeMKV to do my ripping lately. It for the most part has worked very well, except for ripping a Blu Ray of Revenge of the Sith. For whatever reason I'm getting lots of MEDIUM ERRORs when I rip. Kinda frustrating since it is a pristine dis...

Re: Is it possible to change default audio track after encoding

At this point it would also be very helpful to know how to choose the right audio track (standard stereo, not surround) when I'm doing the encoding. I tried doing that one one occasion and ended up with an audio track where (besides the normal audio) someone was describing what was going on, perhaps...

Is it possible to change default audio track after encoding

Please detail your question or problem in as much detail as possible: Hey guys. I recently encoded a bunch of movies with Handbrake. I noticed that the audio level was rather low when playing one in MPC-HC and discovered that the default audio track is Surround rather than standard Stereo. Does any...
