Re: Error on Ubuntu 9.04 Server

I get that same error on dvd's that have wonky DRM on them, and then handbrake or vobcopy or whatever usually freezes when it tries to read the disk

added dependency?

I was compiling handbrake from source for a while now, but then yesterday, it no longer compiles: ./libhb/libhb.a(dvdnav.o): In function `hb_dvdnav_chapter': dvdnav.c:(.text+0xe6): undefined reference to `dvdnav_current_title_program' ./libhb/libhb.a(dvdnav.o): In function `hb_dvdnav_start': dvdnav....

Re: handbrake not using correct chapter names?

Ill try it with a few other DVD's this weekend to see if its a consistant problem or if its just the wall-e disk. Disney did some nasty stuff with wall-e, as you can see from the handbrake activity log

handbrake not using correct chapter names?

I decided to try actually putting in the chapter names yesterday when i was ripping/encoding wall-e, so i entered them all correctly, but when i checked the activity log, chapter 27 was not given the chapter name i specified, and instead was just named 'Chapter 27". I have no way of checking to...

Re: HandBrake 0.9.3: Released!

honestly, how hard is it to type one line on why dvd decoding support was taken out? Was it because of legal reasons? a yes or a no would suffice... I hate having to sound so condescending but honestly, i don't understand why your keeping your reasons for taking this out a secret. its an open source...

Re: HandBrake 0.9.3: Released!

just give a reason. you took it out for SOME reason, whether it be legalities or something else. I highly doubt you took it (dvd decrypting) out just to anger handbrake users. I don't care if its in or not , libdecss or whatever does it fine, but still, having a reason would be nice.

[RESOLVED] [SVN 1797] Encode crashes on windows vista

Ok, i really have no idea what I did, since before it crashed the encode but now (after a restart) it fixed itself. I managed to get a stackdump and an activity log however. Need list of dependencies to compile on linux

I am trying to compile handbrake on linux with the new gtk gui, but for some reason its not compiling, most likely cause of a dependency is missing. the trac page http://trac.handbrake.fr/wiki/CompileGuide says the only thing i need is gcc and g++ and thats obviously not the case as i have both of t...

Re: Problems compiling QT4 GUI

Wow...your GTK gui works perfectly. The only things that don't work yet is the 'about' window, and the fact that it does not make a menu entry. But otherwise, it seems to work great! screenshots: http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/7313/screenshothandbrakevx9.th.png http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/3...

thanks so much for that, i was very frustrated that i coulden't fast foward with my DSQ encoded files even in the mighty VLC.

What does running it through mkvmerge (even without any options) do?

i believe you have to install yasm in order for the compiling thing to detect what cpu capabilities you have. and the linux verison of the binary still has libdvdcss2 compiled in...or it uses a linked version as ive just ripped like 4 dvds straight out of the tray without ripping them first, so im c...

Re: File sizes for "iPod High" preset

that makes sense. Thanks for sharing that. So if you have a smaller res video, you can have a smaller bitrate and therefore smaller size and have it look as good as if it had a high bitrate...but in a larger res, you need higher bitrate in order for the quality to not look like crap. i feel like ive...
