Re: 23.976FPS always VFR in mp4 container!
I can't believe the PS3 is that bad. Could that be why the PS3 preset was dropped from Handbrake long ago?

Re: 23.976FPS always VFR in mp4 container!
No transcoding is happening. Oddly enough, however, when I disabled B-Pyramid as per your instructions, the desync appears to be gone. I don't understand why? Is the PS3 that bad of a media player? And, if disabling B-Pyramid got rid of the desync in this video in particular, why isn't it ever there...

Re: 23.976FPS always VFR in mp4 container!
I run a Plex server on my PC. The PS3 sees it (presumably the PS3's DLNA client), and I play from there. I don't use the PS3 Plex app since it's borderline unusable. I don't use VLC so I don't know how it would behave there (I can check) but if I play it locally with MPC-HC it's fine. Though, MPC-HC...

Re: 23.976FPS always VFR in mp4 container!
Then, why is it that the video I made with Handbrake that shows VFR has audio and video out of sync when I play it on my PS3? Also, I haven't confirmed how well it plays, but Ripbot264 made a 23.976fps CFR video of the same file, which did not show VFR in Mediainfo.

Re: 23.976FPS always VFR in mp4 container!
Is the issue being reviewed? Is there any more information I could provide to help address the issue?

Re: 23.976FPS always VFR in mp4 container!
Mediainfo tells me this. I posted a pastebin of the Mediainfo, err, info on the video in question. Also, the audio and video is not in sync when I play it back on my PS3 though Plex, which is what sparked me looking into this whole mess. Mediainfo reports constant frame rate for 23.976fps if I use t...

23.976FPS always VFR in mp4 container!
Please describe the problem in as much detail as possible: Any time I try to encode a video in .mp4 container at 23.976FPS, it always comes out VFR. I've checked and rechecked that I do indeed have constant framerate set, and forcing FPS to 23.976 instead of "Same as Source" doesn't help,...

Re: QTGMC deinterlacing method
I see. It's a feature I would very much like to see added to Handbrake, though I appreciate your referrals.

Re: QTGMC deinterlacing method
Firstly, about the old thread... I realize its age. As I said, I found the thread via the Search function as per the forum rules, rather than posing a duplicate thread. Additionally, I fail to see how it has little or nothing to do with the thread title. I'm not asking for/suggesting AviSynth suppor...

Re: QTGMC deinterlacing method
Found this thread with the Search function. In trying to encode an interlaced South Park DVD I ripped, I had some serious problems. With Decomb set on "Bob", I still got some interlacing artifacts. My search eventually led me to the complicated AviSynth tool & QTGMC, however, AviSynth ...
