Re: Conversion of old preset files to JSON format
Then I've been very lucky in the past two years or so. Updating Handbrake through the automatic update function in the Options screen always went fine, up until this point. But I suppose you're right, many users probably don't ever even create a preset while using Handbrake. Still, I'd like to put t...

Re: Green line on bottom of encode
I see you had a decomb filter running on this encode. Presumably Bob, as I can see some mentions of Yadif threads starting up. (Correct me if I'm wrong.) If you're using the Decomb Bob option, this is an artifact that I've seen a lot on recorded television broadcasts processed with this option. Tele...

Conversion of old preset files to JSON format
Please describe what you would like to see added to HandBrake: When upgrading from 0.10.5 or earlier to 1.0.0 or above, it'd be great if a script in the installer offers the option of converting the old preset files to the new JSON format used by 1.0.0 and above. Why would you like to see this adde...

Re: Correcting square pixels to 4:3, then cropping
Hahaha, yeah Kaspar, I like a bit of tinkering in the weekends... but I'm not aware of an easy-to-use Queue concept in the CLI.

Re: Windows GUI does not save "Keep Aspect Ratio" state in preset
Hey, weird. I guessed the problem was there too, so I tried that first time, did not work. Now it does.
Anyway: thanks for your magical touch!

[Solved] Windows GUI does not save "Keep Aspect Ratio" state in preset
Please describe the problem in as much detail as possible: The HandBrake Windows GUI does not save the state of the "Keep Aspect Ratio" checkbox in a User Preset. (Picture tab, checkbox appears when setting Anamorphic to "None") I have tried updating an existing User Preset and ...

Re: Correcting square pixels to 4:3, then cropping
Yep! That did the trick. *sprays confetti*
Any way to save the check box state into a User Preset, though? It seems to ignore that in mine, and I don't really feel like going over the checkbox for 17 things in a queue

Thanks John!
PAR Width & PAR Height are greyed out when I try to enter that. What could that be caused by?

Re: Encoding question
I'm fairly sure HandBrake should compensate for that. When in doubt, there are three things you could do, in order of security: Transcode to VBR, this should be supported by most players As you suggested: recoding the audio, losing some detail in a lossy codec Experiment ;-) Yeah, I know, I'm of no ...

Correcting square pixels to 4:3, then cropping
Please detail your question or problem in as much detail as possible: Until recently, I used to record analog TV programming with Windows Media Center on Windows 7. After upgrading to Windows 10 and setting up NextPVR with an MPEG decoder that came with the hardware, I'm recording away again. (WMC ...

Re: HandBrake doesn't finish encoding while it reports 100,00% done
I do not have a short file that encodes badly, unfortunately. I can make the entire file available like last time, if that helps?
Also: do you know of any fixer apps?

Re: HandBrake doesn't finish encoding while it reports 100,00% done
Let me add to this that the audio is often missing from files that do not finish encoding properly in HandBrake. The originals always have audio in this case. At this point, I don't know if this is a HandBrake thing or if the blame is more on the just-outside-standards implementation of MPEG-2 encod...

Re: HandBrake doesn't finish encoding while it reports 100,00% done
It's still broken in the nightly build!
Sometimes, HandBrake will stay static for days with a queue that looks like this:
Logs for this file: scan log, encode log.

Re: HandBrake doesn't finish encoding while it reports 100,00% done
I could, but I want this queue to finish first. Might take another day or so, sorry about that
In the meantime: could you point me to the right place where I can obtain a nightly build?
(Also, can I install that side-by-side of the current version?)

HandBrake doesn't finish encoding while it reports 100,00% done
Please describe the problem in as much detail as possible: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1977368/e-mail/20151013%20handbrake.PNG When converting *.wtv-files (TV-recordings made by Windows Media Center) in a queue, sometimes HandBrake will hang at the end of a file. While the program reports t...
