NvEnc being Used ??
Description of problem or question: I'm not sure how to check if NVenc is being used or not with my encodes. I'm using a nightly build . In Preferences/Video 'Enable NVidia NvEnc' is ticked. I've looked through the pre-sets and don't see one that calls out the use of nvenc , so I've used my usual p...

Encoding HDR
Alright this may be a dumb question but , I going to take a risk and ask it anyway. It's impossible to read a review of 4K TV's these days without also reading about HDR and all the different flavour variants thereof ( HDR10, 10+, HLG etc ). If I were to encode a 4K Bluray which included these detai...

Re: Choose position of subtitles
If the only reason you have subtitles is because you have selected 'burn in' - does that not mean handbrake is applying the subtitles rather than them being included , so to speak, as part of the video feed. Does that not put it in Handbrakes hands then as to where they appear on screen ?

Choose position of subtitles
Please detail your question or problem in as much detail as possible: In movies that have a black bar across the bottom is it possible to retain that bar and force all subtitles ( forced or otherwise ) to be placed there instead of overlapping the picture ?. If so is there any guidance on how to do...

Re: Efficient use of high core counts in next gen chips
Are you saying that Handbrake will be looking at releasing a version that can encode multiple sources simultaneously ? That would be another way to fully leverage the available hardware I suppose.

Efficient use of high core counts in next gen chips
Please describe what you would like to see added to HandBrake: According to the documentation Handbrake shows diminishing returns on processors with more than 6 cores. The recently released AMD Ryzen has 8 cores and the i9 has 10 with apparently more on the way ( possibly all the way to 18 ) . Are ...

Re: MKV Passthru ?
Is there a reason why it can't be done in Handbrake ? Is it not just a case of the right profile ?

MKV Passthru ?
Please detail your question or problem in as much detail as possible: I'm just wondering if it is possible with Handbrake to convert an ISO library of DVD's and BluRay's to mkv files with forced subtitles but retaining the original 'quality' i.e without any loss of birate or cropping etc . Is there...

Re: Scan iso's for audio and subtitle info
Hi , Can you point me to the scripts you are referring to please ? I've looked in the scripts forum and all I can find are a couple of people asking for pretty much what I am and being told it is not possible in Handbrake. To be clear I'm not looking at this stage for scripts to support encoding the...
