--comb-detect benefit?

Hi,

I am just wondering if there is a quality difference between

Code: Select all

--comb-detect --decomb
and simply

Code: Select all

--decomb
when applying on partially interlaced sources.

Thanks :)

--arate auto CLI default behaviour

I've been a happy HandbakeCLi user for years now and I want to help to push that project further to success! This includes improving the documentation! A major drawback at the moment is the CLI documentation which does not point out the default behaviour on CLI level in every case. My question is: "...

How do you find out if a surround track actually contains surround information?

Hi, from time to time I'd like to check if a stereo AC3 sound track which is tagged "Dolby Surround" in Handbrake actually contains surround information. My problem is that I do not own any surround equipment yet so I can't just listen to find out. In general, I don't entirely trust the guys who mas...

Re: How To Get HB With FDK-AAC + 10-Bit x265 v2.0 (Windows)

@mduell I'd like to compile the 1.0.1 release instead of a nightly version. AndrewUKs line git clone --branch 1.0.1 https://github.com/HandBrake/HandBrake.git worked perfectly for me whereas git clone --tag 1.0.1 https://github.com/HandBrake/HandBrake.git results in error: unknown option `tag' Would...

Re: NLMEANS misconfiguration?

Same result with HandBrake Nightly 20151227221722-1e56395-master (2016010101) - 64bit Version ´ Also no big difference when using tune FILM instead of ANIMATION, effect is just less noticeable. It seems that a few future cells are blended in. Maybe the scanlog is of some help. Check title 2: Ha...

Re: NLMEANS misconfiguration?

Nope, not yet. But I'll definitely give it a try if you suggest to do so. But as one encode run takes around 48 hours, results won't be available this year anymore ;)

Is it possible that the Constant Frame Rate setting is causing the issue?

NLMEANS misconfiguration?

Hi forum, after converting a Bluray cell animation movie, I realized that the resulting MKV is full of blended frames and I don't know where they come from. I made some screenshots to show what happened: http://s17.postimg.org/r5abtaw5b/LOTR_original.png This image shows the unaltered source frame. ...

Re: Will nonexistent source tracks be ignored?

Learning by doing :D Made a few tests an found out that nonexisting audio tracks are replaced by the last valid track in my selection and encoded with the settings of the missing track. Haven't tested subtitle tracks though. Don't know whether this is intended behaviour or just a CLI bug. But my que...

Will nonexistent source tracks be ignored?

Hello, I'd like to batch convert a TV show using a Windows batch file. A few episodes come with extra commentary audio + subtitle tracks which I want to preserve. If I use the same cli command on all episodes, what happens to episodes with nonexistent extra tracks? Will there be empty tracks or in t...
