Re: converting HD 60fps capture to 24fps?

Ahhh.....the problem is that the source is MJPEG. When the detelecine filter can't find MPEG-2 picture flags in the frame buffer, it assumes the source is BFF (bottom field first). When HandBrake reads an MJPEG source using ffmpeg, it doesn't have those picture flags. So it's trying to weave fields...

Re: converting HD 60fps capture to 24fps?

the raw files are large (37.5mbits/sec, so 30 seconds = 135MB), what is the best way to get something like that to you? Thanks again. here is the activity log of the encode of the 30 second clip I made, starting fps of 29.97, compressed fps is 29.61 [12:31:20] hb_init: checking cpu count [12:31:21] ...

Re: converting HD 60fps capture to 24fps?

leaving the frame rate same as source, it looks like it it might have caught a few frames as the frame rate in the final compression is 29.73 fps, but for the most part it is leaving the interlaced frames there.

Re: converting HD 60fps capture to 24fps?

ok, I have another file that looks to be 24fps, I've captured at 1080i, and when played back in QT it shows as 29.97fps and has frames that are ... prog/prog/prog/interlaced/interlaced. so it looks like a good candidate for detelecine. I set up a test using video filter detelecine (Default) and fram...

Re: converting HD 60fps capture to 24fps?

to my eye they look like dupe frames. Doesn't mean they are though. Is there something specific I should be looking for to see if they're blended? I have not tried detelecine with 1080i, and I have deleted the source off the DVR so I can't try it with this one, but I should have another one I can te...

converting HD 60fps capture to 24fps?

Hello, I have a blackmagic video capture card that use to capture output from my Dish Network HD DVR. I have the DVR set to output at 1280x720 60P, and the blackmagic captures 1280x720 photo jpeg 59.94 fps. The frames are progressive, though depending on the actual source some jerkiness can be seen,...

this appears to still be an issue with the final release of 0.9.3 ... I'll post a log if needed (looks to be doing the same thing though)

[SVN 1913] silence at start of encoded movie

Hello, first time reporting a bug, so please be gentle if I mess anything up. First, let me say THANK YOU for adding support to encode additional file types. I can now encode my HD captures from my Black Magic Intensity card. The latest snapshot build is working great so far, except for one small is...

Re: HandBrake Snapshot Build 3

not a bug for fishing for support, but a question... "Universal input support, utilizing libavcodec from the FFmpeg project for decoding non-MPEG-2 video" when I read this I got excited, as I would love to use Handbrake on my Photo-JPEG captures from my Blackmagic Intensity card that captu...

I've tried iSquint, the interface was clunky, the encoding quality not so good. I'm looking for something as good as handbrake but for non mpeg2/ts files.

Re: I like the program so much that.......

If there is something that even comes close to HandBrake, I've yet to find it, and I've looked high and low. I would pay good money to be able to convert my HD captures to H.264 in a painless manner. answering myself, it looks like Episode from Flip4Mac is going to fit the bill, the demo spit out g...

Re: Graceful Crash Recovery

another alternative would be to be able to save the queue, or 'batch' (what Sorenson Squeeze calls it). That way, if a crash happens, you can open up the saved queue, delete the items that are done, and set it off and running again.

Re: Handle Occasional Interlaced Frames in Progressive Film

I'm not claiming to have much of a clue about a good situation on this, but since some people (myself included) are more concerned about quality and proper encoding of interlaced/non-interlaced frames, is it possible to have the first pass of a 2 pass (or 3 pass even) encode process run through the ...

Re: I like the program so much that.......

I'll agree with the posters comment, it would be super if HandBrake could handle more types. There is nothing out there that matches the speed, quality and ease of use of HandBrake for encoding H.264 files. I capture dv files from a media converter, and to encode those rather than using Sorenson Squ...

The detelecine filter in 0.9.0 will not discard frames. 29.97 in, 29.97 out. But the extra frames won't be interlaced anymore. is there a time frame for when this might work properly (as in discard the extra frames)? currently I'm skipping encoding material that needs to be detelecined with the hop...

so... after encoding with handbrake to mp4, I should run this file thru a $500 software package that might work to delete the duplicate frames?

Specifically, when I run a telecined movie through the detelecine process, the interlacing disappears (as expected), but the movie remains at 29.97 fps (giving a duplicate frame every fifth frame). I would have expected the process to drop the duplicate frame and render a 24 fps movie. You're right...

Known issue. I'm working on writing something up on it, but in short, it isn't a HandBrake problem...it's a DVD mastering problem, or more correctly, an issue with the way the DVD IFO definition was created. Rodney gotcha, well, it's not too hard to check it to make sure.... interlaced source is *u...

new bug or how it always worked? 'same as source' framerate.

I was just compressing some interlaced source (Robert Plant Sound Stage DVD) and had selected 'same as source' for framerate. When watching the compressed file (using 2 pass 1250bitrate H.264 baseline iPod, the Jan 1 UB 7.1a4 build) I notied the ending credits were jumpy. So I recompressed it choosi...
