10bit x264 playback support on consumer devices

Outside of computer playback, is this supported by normal consumer devices out of the box? I've seen 10bit H265 support, but not a lot of clear guidance on x264.

Re: Handling Mixed Telecine for Consistent Framerate

Thank you, this is actually my intended goal Frames dropped. This is good to know, but I would suspect the use case would be to create a slow motion effect, which could likely be done more easily through a NLE tool. In my case, I wanted to create constant frame-rate video with mixed telecine and ens...

Re: Handling Mixed Telecine for Consistent Framerate

Sure, but I haven't quite run into a bug. I was looking more for guidance on the best approach. I can run a few tests and post those logs. Really appreciate the help! Perhaps a key related question - If I force a lower framerate, is the video slowed down or are frames dropped? Could you please post ...

If I have a telecined DVD source for a TV show and choose detelecine, the framerate ends up being variable depending on the segment of the file. Is there a way to tell Handbrake to drop the extra frames in the 29.97i sections so I can set the framerate to 23.97p?

Re: What happens if I crop too much?

So if I crop the top and the height becomes 470, does the oddball height make VLC scale the video incorrectly?

What happens if I crop too much?

Just wondering, but if I crop the top and bottom a few pixels of a 720x480 full screen DVD, how do players scale generally?

Also, if I wanted to crop on all sides and resize to 640x480 square pixels, what would the best way be?

How to make anamorphic none and crop?

Hello, I have a DVD I would like to rip and would like to make the resulting video non-anamorphic. As the video displays 640x480, I should be able to encode to 640x480 to keep the way the video would display as anamorphic. I would like to crop the overscan but I am unsure how to set sizing in relati...
