Where did it go? 3-day encoding gone missing
Description of problem or question HB Win just completed a 3-day encoding and the output file I specified is not in the destination folder nor anywhere else on my computer, as shown in this screenshot: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9bl8k9pksi0601z/HB%20screen.jpg?dl=0 Steps to reproduce the problem (If...

Estimating file size using Constant Quality
I am using a one-hour 1080p uncompressed MOV file for input to Handbrake. The file (600 GB) contains a number of short, highly colorful and fast moving animations that will play in a loop. I plan to use RF around 20 - 24 for the encoding but I need to keep the file size under 10 GB and would like th...

Re: Max input file?
Good stuff. As soon as I can get the uncompressed output from AE I will give it a try and report back. One single compression by HB would be the ideal solution.

Max input file?
I have 12 1920 x 1080 uncompressed MOV files that I need to render into a single 1920 x 1080, H.264 file at 12500 kbps. I tried to compress each with Handbrake first then load them all into After Effects to render the file output file using 12500 kbps as the data rate limit limit and H.264, but AE a...

Re: HB crash - where is Activity log saved?
If you tell me exactly what type/amount of data would be useful I will be happy to send it to you. A few seconds? Let me know what would help.

Re: change output dimenstions
pastebin.com/Bv8be3Em I point Source to the file and it appears to load it it reports 100% - but then when I try to run the job it says I must first scan a source and set up the job.. And how would I change the output dimensions to 1280 x 720 from the source size of 3840 x 2160? The Width and Height...

repeated crashes with large MOV file
Sorry for the new post but sort of desperate. Repeated crashes of an uncompressed 200 GB MOV file within a few seconds of starting:

HB crash - where is Activity log saved?
HB is crashing repeatedly while trying to transcode a 190 GB file -
EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV)
KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at ...
and whatnot - where is the activity log stored (or is it stored?) after the crash? Is it still available after I restart?

can't read uncomprssed MOV file
Anyone know why HB would not find a valid source in an uncompressed MOV file created from a sequence of TIFF files in After Effects? From the docs: HandBrake supports a wide varity of input formats. Almost any video file format that libavformat and libavcodec support. The file is 212 GB - is that an...

I am feeding it an uncompressed MOV file created from a sequence of uncompressed TIFF files in After Effects. Should be legal, no? I was able to transcode a similar file on the Mac but need to do this one on the PC.. " HandBrake supports a wide varity of input formats. Almost any video file for...

change output dimenstions
I have a video file that is c. UHD - 3840 x 2400 (a mistake) and I need the output file to be 1280 x 720. I set Anamorphic to Custom but can only change the Size/Source width to 1280, not the height (and is that the right setting anyway?) Where do I change the output size - Win 64. Thanks for the he...
