Re: Help Changing Language HandBrake V 0.9.2
I'd try to actually rip the DVD to your HDD first, using DVD Decrypter or DVDFab. Then try again. It looks like HB can't parse the language right off the DVD.

Re: Upgraded to 0.9.2 but iPod won't sync now
The resolution too high: I see 640x496 in your infos. iPod only support 640x480. I'm assuming you're ripping a a typical 4:3 TV show or something...well for this one in the "Picture Settings" tab, instead of having 640x[blank] do it the other way around: leave the width blank, and force 48...

Stackdump
Hey guys, I've been enjoying .9.2 for a few days now...and today my usual settings crashed. Just thought maybe you can make sense of what could be the cause: Query: -i "C:\FullDisc\CRASH" -t 1 -c 1-16 -o "h:\CRASH_T1_C1-16.m4" -e x264 -E aac+ac3 -p -b 1600 -2 -x bframes=3:ref=1:s...

Re: Cannot encode anymore....
For me, whenever the encode fails in a second in Vista, is when the Handbrake shortcut isn't set to run in Administrator mode.

Re: Crash - Requested bitrate is too low
Allright I think I found the cause of my problem: 1. The audio encoder was set to "AAC + AC3". 2. In Audio Tracks, I would select the English (or whatever else) as Track 1 AND select that again in Track 2.. thinking I had to choose this manually. 3. You know the rest..this leads to the &qu...

Re: HandBrake 0.9.2 mp4 file --- iTunes import not possible ?!
Just catching up here... but all of my previous (i.e HB < 0.9.2) encodes are named xyz.mp4 and work perfectly in iTunes. Am I just to understand that the .m4v extension if required when there's an AC3 track?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Crash - Requested bitrate is too low
Ok so yesterday I tried Pirates 3 with a fixed size of 1GB and I found it to be quite blocky (prob cos its an almost 3-hour movie)...so using the same settings, I enabled "Deblock" for testing, refreshed the Query....and the same requested bitrate is too low crap showed up at the end of Pa...

Re: Crash - Requested bitrate is too low
I'm soo lost. It worked (with a resulting file of 3GB). I'm gonna try again at home now. What bugs me though is, if you look at the activity log i provided, the bitrate shows as being 0 (not the command line, the actual activity log)...which of course is a little low...

That's for the Mac GUI I didn't check out the Win part... but I don't really care about that. That's totally minor, I just want my encodes to work for nowCavalicious wrote:http://trac.handbrake.fr/changeset/1309

Re: Crash - Requested bitrate is too low
Doing 16 chapters right now... the one thing I noted (i should post that in the bug section), is that the AppleTV preset sets the extension to .mp4 while Chapter Markers are enabled. If I deselect the markers, then re-enable them, the extension switches correctly to .m4v Because my target disk parti...

Re: Crash - Requested bitrate is too low
I've mostly seen crashes at the beginning of the 2nd pass be related to writing the file. Is the "h:" drive always available? But looking at your error, that may not be the case here. Yeah H: is a local drive... and I had the same problem at home. Like I wrote above, i tried using 1 pass ...

Ok this is getting weird... I just attempted HP with 1 pass @ 2500kbps bitrate...and it crashed again at the end. Same error: Query: -i "C:\FullDisc\HARRY_POTTER_5_ORDER_PHOENIX" -t 1 -c 1-32 -o "c:\HARRY_POTTER_5_ORDER_PHOENIX_T1_C1-32.m4v" -e x264 -E aac+ac3 -p -b 2500 -x bfram...

I failed to mention that 2 pass encoding works on small tests (like 1 to 3 or 4 chapters), but crashes on larger ones (i.e full movie)

Crap.. I'll copy/paste the one i've been using from work. So it won't match last night's results. I'm assuming what you want is the Query Editor text: -i "C:\FullDisc\HARRY_POTTER_5_ORDER_PHOENIX" -t 1 -c 1-32 -o "h:\HARRY_POTTER_5_ORDER_PHOENIX_T1_C1-32.m4v" -e x264 -E aac+ac3 -...

Personally I bought an AppleTV since then (well since the take 2)...and well... LOVING IT!!!!
PS3 is a kick ass console, and I'll keep it for games and DivX/Xvid movies (well, Blu-ray too of course)

Should have been posted in the TIki Bar, but I don't think a lot of people check that one out. But to answer your question, I'm going with the AppleTV (most likely this weekend)...first of all for the price, then also because it'll only be used as media center so I don't need to access other feature...

Re: AppleTV to support Dolby5.1 Natively
I believe I read somewhere they do this for themselves ;) Dynaflash just said he's holding off his own re-encoding process. They just "happen" to be sharing HB with the world. I'm a dev myself, so I won't ask you guys how long before this or that, just knowing (from the test I just read ab...

I don't remember who answered me (Scott maybe), but I thought AC3 wasn't a "recognized term" in the MP4 container. Has that been bastardized by Apple then?dynaflash wrote:Thats a good idea.roundy wrote:This is why we need a tool that does what Apple does (the whole .m4v with 2 audio streams thing.)

Re: AppleTV to support Dolby5.1 Natively
I don't mean to beat a dead horse or get yelled at or anything... But now I feel I'm going to have to re-encode all my movives (or at least hold off on doing anymore for the time being). Since I finally came to a setting I'm comfortable with I've encoded 160+ DVDs. Now Apple comes out and says the ...

PS3 <> AppleTV
Hey guys, Question to those of you who have both a PS3 and an AppleTV (or have used both). I currently own a PS3...and I just keep wondering if I should go and buy an AppleTV, or if I get it all (except for the movie rental/purchase of course) with the PS3? I know the PS3 requires (for now) a DLNA s...

Re: Cataloging an iPod version and an Apple TV version in iTunes
Well you could have an external hard drive with a built-in iTunes "server" feature...you could then use that hard drive as the storage for the AppleTV, and use your computer for storing the videos for your iPod. Wrong section though as this isn't really a Handbreak support, I guess the Tik...
