Re: Can't detect H.265 QSV encoder when UWD installed
@maxim_d33 Im only using one monitor that is attached to the GPU card, and I currently dont have the right cable for attaching the monitor to the iGPU. With the right cable, would it be sufficient for testing to deactivate the GPU card in device manager, i.e. to not remove the GPU card? Or could the...

Re: Can't detect H.265 QSV encoder when UWD installed
I have this issue with iGPU AND a GPU card installed.
BTW the previously mentioned MediaSDK libraries/files are no longer in ProgramFiles\Intel\MediaSDK. The UWD driver installs these files now in Windows\system32 and Windows\SysWow64.

Re: QSV no longer working with later Intel graphics drivers
Hmm, I've now seen a failure with version 4944 (where version 4771 succeeds).
@rbirk: you are right - version 4944 is more stable than previous versions but still not as stable as version 4771.

Re: QSV no longer working with later Intel graphics drivers
All drivers released after version 4771 directly caused failures, i.e. conversion of any video failed approx in the middle of the process. With version 4944, I did not see any single failure for 4 videos. My CPU is an i7-7700K running on Windows 10 64 Bit Fall Creators Update, build 1709. I use thes...

Re: QSV no longer working with later Intel graphics drivers
Unfortunately, the latest Intel driver 4901 ist still not working for me with Handbrake 1.0.7 QSV (official, i.e. no nightly build). The problem is exactly the one mentiond in this thread. Latest working Intel driver is version 4771. My CPU is an i7-7700K running on Windows 10 64 Bit Fall Creators U...

Re: HandBrakeCLI 1.0.3 Error code -17
Even with the latest driver version the error persists.
To be clear: HB versions < 1.0.3 work perfectly. Only 1.0.3 does not work anymore.
Anyway, thanks for the tip.

HandBrakeCLI 1.0.3 Error code -17
With version 1.0.3 I got an error during encode with qsv (Error code -17, hb_qsv_wait_on_sync 602). I've never seen this error before and everything always worked as expected. According to the change log, this error has been resolved. It seems that this error was introduced with 1.0.3 for my specfic...

Re: v0.10.x: Multiple angles and wrong chapter marks
Thank you very much for the investigation and for addressing the issue. I will check the Trac Timeline. Once I see a related fix I will check the nightly build.

Re: v0.10.x: Multiple angles and wrong chapter marks
Thanks for the quick reply.
The number of chapters is correct. But the order is somehow mixed up, e.g. in the log:
Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 1, Chapter 4, ...
The multi-angle part is at the beginning of the movie in this example.
With HB 0.9.9 the order is correct in the log.

v0.10.x: Multiple angles and wrong chapter marks
I already posted and described this a year ago: 'v10.2: Multiple angles and wrong chapter marks' It seems that this problem has not been addressed yet, thus I raise it again. I run HB (0.10.5) on Windows 10 64 bit now. Same problem as on Win 8.1 64 bit. No change with current nightly build. The acti...

v10.2: Multiple angles and wrong chapter marks
With v10.2, discs with multiple angles are much better handled than in previous 10.x versions. Thanks for that. But I noticed wrong chapter marks with a BluRay and a selected angle > 1. For each angle there is a variant of the movie's intro on the disc. For example, with '--angle 2', the resulting m...

Re: HB CLI 0.10.0: Bug with Forced Subs (with subtopic angle)
HandBrake is no DVD player, but it's quite simple to simulate a DVD player. At least I managed it to get the desired information automatically within a few seconds now: The default angle and (as a side effect) the default subtitle track for foreign language segments. Using the Windows IDvd* Interfac...

Re: HB CLI 0.10.0: Bug with Forced Subs
But the problem is: what is the correct angle for the desired audio track? I know no other way than watching the movie and checking it for language specific visual hints. This is quite time consuming and not obvious. Often the angle number is the same as the audio track number, but this is not alway...

Re: HB CLI 0.10.0: Bug with Forced Subs
Hmm, I thought that somewhere in the dvd's data files there must be a link: if you choose language x then use angle y for playback. Would be nice if dvdnav could extract this information. Actually i'm not familiar with DVD structures. Just an idea.

Re: HB CLI 0.10.0: Bug with Forced Subs
Thanks for the quick response.
It's 'The Smurfs 2'
Btw is there any way to automatically choose the right/default angle for the chosen audio language for encoding? When playing the DVD the right angle will automatically be used. Why not also with HB?

HB CLI 0.10.0: Bug with Forced Subs
First of all I want to thank you for HandBrake CLI. I like it very much and it generally does a very good job. I use HB on Windows since version 0.9.6 for creating mp4 files and unfortunately there was always a problem with certain (forced) subtitles, i.e. during playback the last subtitle stayed on...
