I had circa 300 fps encoding 2K movies on my M1 Mac Mini from BDRIPS either in h264 or h265 in Big Sur. Here in Monterey, either 12.0.1 or 12.1 beta 4 (which solved my problems) I can't go beyond 190fps.

HB 1.4.2 and Mac OS 12.0.1 - 21A559. Here, I'm just cropping 156 px left and 156 px right but if i reduce image size the fps gets slower (150/200).

BTW... I'm now re-encoding an h264 animation movie (Pixar's Brave) with horizontal cropping in order to get a 2:1 aspect ratio and I'm around 300 fps.

FYI: on MacMini M1 I'm encoding full HD movies at 230/240 fps with VT (if no scalings or other filters applied) regardless it's and h264 or h265.

Nope. Not al least on my MBPro 2018 with 10.14.x + AMD RX580 (or VEGA 56) in eGPU and HB 1.2.2. But is supported under Bootcamp/Win 10 /HB 1.2.2 although performance is very poor.
