HandBrake

Thanks to TedJ I brought the RetinaMBP in and they found some issues. Apple replaced the Logic Board and the Heat Sink (no charge). After I got it home I ran the test above again... and found much better results (I updated the original post). Thank you again for the help!

Yeah, when I re-tested a couple of days ago and reposted above... Computer #2 (2012 Retina MacBook Pro) was running 10.9.5

Maybe I have a hardware issue... though I'm not sure how I can diagnose it (so I can get it repaired).

Maybe for the 2007 MacBook Pro... but it's disappointing that a fairly new computer (2012 Retina MacBook Pro) with good specs and running the latest OS available would perform almost as well (or poorly).
