Keep Anamorphic while Resizing

Description of problem or question: I have a video (.mkv) that is sized incorrectly. It's currently 4x3, when it should be 16x9. The only way I know how to resize a video is to change the default of Anamorphic from Automatic, to None, uncheck "Keep Aspect Ratio" and then change the dimens...

Re: Subtitles Not Displayed After Conversion

Indeed, it was the cropping. I adjusted it to 0 and viola! The subtitles were there are the converted file.

Re: Subtitles Not Displayed After Conversion

Thanks guys. I'll check the cropping--I hadn't thought of that. As for selecting the subtitle tracks, there were actually none to select. Which is what baffles me. That would indicate to me that the source already had them burned in. The only option on the Subtitle tab is Foreign Audio scan. But it ...

Subtitles Not Displayed After Conversion

Description of problem or question My video source, an mkv file, has subtitles burned in already. At least I think they are, because when I import it into Handbrake and go to the Subtitle tab, I can't select any subtitle track (only Foreign Audio Scan). Additionally, when I play the file in VLC, th...

Encoding Tweak Suggestions for Dark Scenes

I tried with the video settings below, but the blacks were still very pixelated/blocky. Video codec: H.264...

Setting for smooth panning

I'm a long time user of Handbrake and think is does a great job compared to other encoders I've tried. However, one thing I've noticed is that often when a movie contains scenes where the camera shows pans from one side of the screen to the other, Handbrake produces files that show this panning as a...
