Re: auto audio gain
The thing is with quiet videos, I would rather fully fix it once regardless of the time. Otherwise android devices can be quiet at full volume or i would assume software like vlc/ android would need to support the metadata. From a developers point of view, it's up to you guys but I would prefer a fu...

Re: auto audio gain
On a pentium 4, a 5 min track gets analyzed in no more than 5 second. I do realise a movie would take much longer so I was hoping for a more "on demand" analysis of the audio track. Maybe an analyse button next to the gain. Shouldn't take more than 90 seconds on a p4 should it? What analys...

add to queue stuck animation
Hello. When you add an item into handbrake (I do drag and drop), then press the add to queue button, the animation gets stuck. When you mouse over other buttons, they don't highlight like they're supposed to but if you click them they do seem to function like they should. Minor issue really. Windows...

auto audio gain
Maximise volume while preserving dynamic range and no distortion. I use Sony soundforge audio editing software. It takes a few seconds to analyse the audio initially. After which it can tell you the difference between source volume and full volume. Then you can add the difference in seconds. Ultimat...

Re: bluray disc type vs file type
unless there's a particular test you want me to do on the software, I'm ruling it out because i have performed my own tests, which it passed over various versions as updates are released.
edit - no transcoding is done by the other software as per my first post mentions

Re: stuttering
i did aac for compatibility. tablets can't exactly read dolby natively i presume. for pc, again for better compatibility [& compression, i'm using FDK] i didn't use the disc for the tablets again because it seemed unneccessary since the quality was going to be lower. the movies are constant fram...

stuttering
Hello I am having issues with recent releases of movies where the output video stutters. I initially used version 0.9.9 and the film was frozen. It was fixed when all I did was feed the bluray disc as opposed to a lossless file equivalent into handbrake. Recently I wanted a copy of it on my recently...

Re: uninstaller doesn't remove start menu items
as far as i can tell, there are 2 start menu entries c:\users\user\appdata\roaming\microsoft\windows\start menu\programs\handbrake - this contains only a folder c:\programdata\microsoft\windows\start menu\programs\handbrake - this is a folder and 2 shortcuts. handbrake & uninstaller. my theory i...

Re: uninstaller doesn't remove start menu items
I'm just bringing it to attention :-) it's a minor thing and can be removed manually like you said. The desktop shortcut and folder remove correctly and the computer is a fresh win 7 install with no previous version of handbrake. Is the installer likely to get fixed or left alone? Thanks, looking fo...

Re: fdk-aac lc frequency 17khz/20khz frequency limit
in the gui all the audio options are dropdowns so it would fit perfectly. you would probably only need to add a few in increments of 1khz but you guys know best.
btw - please don't make this a cli only. I have no idea how to use them. probably because I've never tried. heh

Re: fdk-aac lc frequency 17khz/20khz frequency limit
The problem it creates is that you need to test frequencies cut in relation to what you can hear and the source content. This is more of a problem for low bitrate content because according to the table, you would need to specify atleast 192 for max cutoff for stereo content which i think is too high...

fdk-aac lc frequency 17khz/20khz frequency limit
hello, fdk-aac limits the frequency limit based on settings chosen, which I think is a smart idea. however, the limit is 17khz based on listening tests etc according to the documentation. dolby digital [and maybe dts] support 20khz as the limit & also some may argue they can hear the difference....

Re: understanding fdk licence
hi, firstly, sorry for double posting but I have done further research on the matter. so as I understand it, the issue is the treble area of a graphic equalizer seems to be the issue in laymans terms. according the source code in handbrake, there is no cutoff specified. so according to hydrogen audi...

Re: understanding lossless 7.1 and their core
so with with the incorrect terminology excused and my layman terms, it's the same thing :-P basically it's my original question where i'm asking if an old reciever that doesn't support dts-hd or truehd, or even if we're talking about libdca, whether every musical note and everysound effect still exi...

Re: understanding lossless 7.1 and their core
well, you said that the core basically has no sounds/music missing from the 7.1 lossless track. older hardware [which is incapable of playing lossless audio] will play the core because that's why it exists [for compatibility]. so then to create a 7.1 system it uses the core & the "residual?...

the m2ts container!
Hi, I have the Blu-ray frozen. I am trying to make a backup on to a single layer Blu-ray disc. Problem is the m2ts container makes it difficult to make it fit without recoding. If i just "remux?" It into a matroska, it fits perfectly with around 2gb saving compared to m2ts. I've been aware...
