This may be the wrong board, but how do I add the WIN patches that as listed in the Developers section?
I would like to add the patch to increase my AAC audio encodes to 320 kbps.

Does the IPAD have a max average / max bitrate?
I know most are converting with RF, but does anyone know if the IPAD has a max average bitrate / max bitrate like the ipods? Is there a bitrate limit that will keep it from syncing with Itunes? Given that it supports level 3.1, I would assume that the ceiling is 14mbps.

best settings for downsizing video
Are there any settings in Handbrake to help in the downsizing of video? Say 1080P to 720p.

Re: .9.4 wont keep custom aspect ratio for PSP
Yes, the PSP can stretch & zoom video, but for h.264 the aspec ratio needs to be 480x272 or 720x480.
Handbrake is not holding my set width and height to make the videos 480x272.

.9.4 wont keep custom aspect ratio for PSP
I upgraded to .9.4 and I have had no issues with my DVD / Blu-Ray rips to mkv. But I can't get it to work to create a valid PSP file. The problem I have is that the PSP will only allow a 480x272 aspect ratio video. (Dumb I Know) I tell Handbrake to auto crop, no anamorphic, not to lock the ration an...

Re: PSP: Need Help With Settings
The problem I have is that even though I set the video to 480x272 and without enforce correct ratio flag set, it still out puts the video to something like 480X208.

Storm Owners and Help with its Video Player
Not a Handbrake question, but Tried to find the answer at Crackberry.com and no one could answer. I am looking to upgrade my current BB to a new Storm. My question is will the Storm play a video full screen (edge to edge) if the video is something like 320x240 or 368x208 and not 480xYY. I understand...

Re: keep orginal aac audio in encode
Thanks for the replies.
I guess I will demux the audio, re-encode the HD video (less the audio) and remux the original audio back. Looks like Yamb could do the job.

keep orginal aac audio in encode
I have some HD trailers that my son wants to put in his sansa. They are mp4 files with H.264 video and 2.0 aac audio. Granted I have to reencode the video but I would like to keep the audio and not compress it again. Can handbrake keep the aac audio if I tell it I want to use that codec? (Like AC3 w...

Re: Ripping DVD's for Blackberry 8800/8830
guys, just use the ipod low rez. Change from h.264 to mpeg4.
I played with this and set the bitrate to 1.2mbps video / 160kbps audio. Same framerate as source.

PSP can't play plain MP4?
I am trying to find the best quality preset to convert DVD's to play on my PSP and my son's sansa view. His Sansa is supposed to play h.264 at 480x272 but doesn't. It will play 480x272 MP4. So, I tried to play this on the PSP and it states that the format is invalid. The PSP specs call for MP4 and H...

Re: Converting DVD movies for PSP
1st, do you have your PSP updated to the latest version? 2nd, I have the PSP Slim, but the 1st gen should work the same with the latest firmware. I use the PSP Setting but have changed it to the following: *Output Settings: Encoder is h.264, audio is AAC. *Picture Settings: Auto crop, set size to 48...

Re: Blackberry Pearl 8100 Settings
Thought I would share my conversion success: I just used the IPOD Low Rez profile and changed the video codec from H.264 to MP4. I kept the same frame rate as the DVD, same audio & video profile bitrate and even left the chapter settings. Played back on my 8830 and my wife's 8130 without issue.

Repeated scene in DVD to MP4
Anyone tried to rip Hitman and got a repeated scene?
When I play the ripped DVD on my hard drive, there is no issue. But when I convert to mp4 a scene repeats and then continues on with the rest of the movie.

Re: which profile for XBOX 360 and PS3?
Yes, all of the rips would have to be Dolby Pro Logic II to play back on the XBOX. That is something that I hope they fix in the spring 2008 update.
Would love to watch some of the HD MOV trailers, but they are in 5.1 AAC

Re: which profile for XBOX 360 and PS3?
I plan on using H.264/AAC for both the 360 and the PS3. My question is, do the advance H.264 options in the XBOX profile brake PS3 compatibility? I see that the XBOX uses profile level 4.0 and I have been changing that to 4.1 that is used by the PS3. Plays very well with the XBOX. I would like to us...

Re: Xvid/AC3 undersized in AVI format
I have created several DVD to H.264 with DLP II audio to play back on the 360. The Video is great and the sound is good. I was impressed with the sound separation in the Front Left, Right and Center channels. But I would rather feed the original AC3/5.1 audio and that only means and AVI Xvid Rip. Ag...

Re: Xvid/AC3 undersized in AVI format
Its really undersized. The biggest AVI file that is possible is under 4 GB. When I encode, I set a file size to 3990. Some times its very close but most of the time its a Gig or so below what I set. I know that AutoGK does this. If the compression precentage quality is high like 125%, it will give y...

Xvid/AC3 undersized in AVI format
When I encode to Xvid with Ac3 in the AVI format, the video never comes out to the file size that I set.
I set a file size under 4 GB as that is the MAX file size. (I want the highest quality and space is not an issue)
Any thoughts?

which profile for XBOX 360 and PS3?
Anyone encoding for both devices? (I will have both within a couple of months)
Its seems that the XBOX 360 calls for the same H.264 level as the PS3 but has more setting for quality vs. speed.
Should I use the XBOX 360 one? Would like to start ripping now and get the best quality

Re: Can't create MKV files with H.264 and 5.1 Ac-3
I think I just fixed it.
I have to select .MKV as part of the file name to get the container.
There used to be a flag to set so that I could go over the 4GB limit. Is this still an option in the new version?
