Re: RAM fragmentation/overflood
My Mac is encoding since this early morning (12h) and actually I have 18,94MB of used RAM. This only happens using handbrake for such a long time (system responsiveness is not as usual). Here a sample of the process: -can't post it since the forum give me an error (going to put it somewhere else- It...

Re: RAM fragmentation/overflood
This morning I found all the files encoded with apparently no RAM issue. I think that the problem occurs only after several hours of encoding. I'll start to full movie encoding and maybe I'll sample the process once I get all the 24GB of RAM busy (can not wait 30-40h to get to the log file, sorry). ...

Re: RAM fragmentation/overflood
I've just finished the first try (using x265 medium presets) encoding chapter 10 of the BD rip of White House Down. No RAM issue at all. Re: H265 (HEVC) benchmarks
Thanks for your answer. I have done a look at http://x265.readthedocs.org/en/default/ and if I'm not wrong I should add "--pmode --pme" (without quotes) in HB's Video > Additional Options... am I right?

Re: RAM fragmentation/overflood
Sorry guys, I thought you would understand that I was non attaching the log (as in other post of mine) because it would be needed more than 30 hours of encoding. I left my Mac on all night but then I stopped the encoing task when I saw the beast to its knees :) I'll do some tests by encoding only a ...

RAM fragmentation/overflood
Hello, using HB's OS X build 0.10.0 x64 on a Mac Pro (2012 model with 24GB of RAM and 2 dual Xeon 6 core, so 12 physical cores and 24 with hyperthreading) running OS X 10.9.5 I get some strange results when encoding from a BR rip (MKV container) to x265 (MKV container): encoding starts well at about...

Please post here your benchmarks with this "new" (amazing!) encoding standard. I've made a few tests on my mid 2012 Mac Pro with updated CPUs (2 x six core Intel Xeon X5690 @ 3.47GHz for a total of 24 logical processor count) with Handbrake version 6507svn x86_64 (2014110701). Source BR ri...
