Re: Problems converting MKVs with mono audio

Interesting. I was just trying to open it with quicktime to check that everything was ok and that's when I get that error. But if I have PLEX play it, it plays fine. So I guess it's just an issue with QuickTime? Not sure.

Re: 7.1 Audio Support?

I just saw that in the second file there were 4 audio tracks: (3) 5.1 tracks and (1) 7.1. - It looks like the DTS HD 7.1 got converted to 5.1. And the first file was TrueHD 7.1 which got dropped entirely.

DTS-HD Audio Passthrough

Hopefully this is a quick answer. I'm trying to convert a Blu ray MKV file to the Apple TV 3 preset (to play on the ATV). The MKV has DTS-HD 7.1 audio. 1. Can I bring this audio over by selection the DTS-HD Passthrough setting? 2. If so, do I select just one audio slot within handbrake or do I need ...

iTunes not seeing files

I can't figure out if this is a HandBrake issue or not. I am trying to take an HD MKV file and convert it to watch on my ATV. I used the AppleTV 3 preset in HB. Normally, I would be able to just drag and drop the converted file into iTunes and it would work. Now, I drop it onto iTunes and nothing ha...

Cannot see SRT file

I would like to take an MKV file that I have that has a SRT file in it and simply play it on my Apple TV with the subtitles.

If I load the MKV file and select the AppleTV 3 preset and click on the Subtitle section it does not see the SRT file.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Many thanks.

Quicktime does not play my file in Lion

This may not be a Handbrake issue but a Mac OS issue. I just upgraded to Lion and now when I rip a SD DVD and use the AppleTV 3 preset I cannot play the file with QuickTime Player. I get a message that says "This movie could not be opened. A required codec isn't available." If I use other players li...

So the 1920x832 is the proper output?

Re: Bluray Ripping & Encoding (A Total Mac Solution)

Hello, I am trying to follow this tutorial and everything is working except I can't get the output to be the same as the source in HB 0.9.5 Source is 1920x1080 and the output is 1920x832. If I go into the picture settings and change the anamorphic to "none" and uncheck the "keep aspect ratio" I can ...

Simple Audio Track Question

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I just want to clarify this. This is the way I understand the audio tracks: Tracks 1 and 2 are not representative of right and left (stereo) tracks. Track 1 can have a true surround mix on it and track 2 could have commentary. Question: So why does 0.9.3 select...

I have had beautiful results with HB versions 0.9.1 and 0.9.2 but I have not had one succesfull use of 0.9.3. looks like awkwardtv.org is down for the moment. I'll try reading up as much as I can on this site. The problem is I don't write code so anything that involves terminal and unix has to really be spelled out for me so I can copy and paste. I'll see if I can find it somewhere. Thanks for the help.
