Blu-Ray to MakeMKV to HandBrake with Subtitles/CC in iTunes
I promise I've been searching for an answer to this, but haven't found one. Here's my situation: 1. I'm archiving my Blu-Ray movies onto my iMac for playback in iTunes. 2. I use MakeMKV to copy the movie. 2a. When I playback the MKV in VLC, I can toggle English subtitles on or off from the subtitles...

Re: Mac Question: TiVo > FCP X > Handbrake
Found a thread on Apple's forums where people took the MPEG-2 file and changed the extension to MOD for direct import to FCPX. Did it, and it worked like a charm. So... 1. Pull into FCPX as MOD 2. Remove commercials 3. Export ProRes HQ 4. Transcode via Handbrake to 720p or 1080p or whatever. Sound g...

Re: Mac Question: TiVo > FCP X > Handbrake
Nope. =/ How about... 1. If I'm going to go 720p, anyway, I could just transcode the 1080p from the TiVo via Handbrake at 720p, using a lower RF (10 or whatever)... 2. THEN drop into FCPX to edit-out commercials... 3. THEN export as a Master FIle (ProRes 422?)... 4. THEN encode this Master at RF18 o...

Re: Mac Question: TiVo > FCP X > Handbrake
Thanks -- I'll give this process a try.
I went with RF20 because I tried different RF settings, and RF20 was the one that was only slightly higher than the bitrate of the original. I figured I was "upcoming" and adding wasted space/time.
Anyone else have any thoughts?

Mac Question: TiVo > FCP X > Handbrake
Hey all. I promise I searched and found nothing, so I started this new thread. Apologies in advance if this has been addressed already! I have the current top-line TiVo, and here's my current process: 1. Pull programs to my iMac using KMTTG. 2. Transcode using Handbrake's High Profile preset with co...
