* New Computer * difference is AMAZING!
A few weeks ago I got a Lenovo Desktop Computer with AMD A10-5700 processor, 8 gigs ram, 1tb hard drive...... Prior to that, I had a windows 7 Dell Optiplex that was decent, but my God, the difference in encoding times just blew me away....... On normal preset, it takes 15 minutes to encode a 2 hour...

0.9.8 vs 0.9.9 encoding times
I've had 0.9.8 for a while and LOVE it. Typically I use the normal preset and add decomb (fast) but that's all I change. At any rate, I decided to download 0.9.9 even though 8 was perfectly fine for me........I can't believe how much SLOWER 9 is than 8 when encoding the same movie on the normal pres...

Re: Playback speed too slow
YES! Pal is 4% faster if an NTSC show or movie is used in PAL format and it drives me nuts! The voices are high pitched and sound like HELIUM! Interesting if someone is used to that and they hear it correctly in the NTSC format, I can see how they might think everything is to LOW pitched, when in fa...

Re: New to this but having success
I FIGURED OUT what is happening - although I'm not sure why............ Here's what happened that causes the no audio issue for me.......... When you are adding to the queue and you go back and pull the queue up and see that you made a mistake on naming one of the titles, so you click EDIT, which ta...

Re: New to this but having success
Rodeo - Wait? Add all to queue? That's not what I was doing.......I was adding them individually.... It's so strange because it doesn't happen if I add 8 or 10 titles to the queue individually.........But it's when I add a BUNCH of titles to the queue "individually" and they go away from m...

Re: New to this but having success
No I have anydvd as my decrypter which I have had for a long time.......once anydvd scans, I just use dvdshrink to rip but I don't shrink it, I keep it at DVD9. I'm not trying to rip a copy protected DVD with no way of removing copy protection. I was only using dvd shrink to reaurthor on some dvd's ...

Re: New to this but having success
Ok ...........Once again the SAME Thing happened...... I'll explain EXACTLY what I'm doing in steps so that perhaps there's something I'm doing wrong...... 1. Rip unmolested DVD using dvd shrink into an iso file in its own folder. 2. Open Handbrake 3. Open Source iso file which brings it into handbr...

Re: New to this but having success
Ok thanks for the help I'm pretty sure I didn't add all.............I did them one by one...... It's working fine now and has for a while..........but that makes me so paranoid setting up an entire cue only to find the next day 1/2 of them doesn't have sound........Hopefully it's something minor I d...

Then I added a bunch to the queue..............right? ............Then I let it do it's thing..........About the first 7 or so episodes that were in the queue were fine ..............it was the rest that I had to delete due to no audio.....

PAL speedup - Can handbrake do a pull down?
I have some PAL (1976) Bionic Woman DVD's that I've ripped and converting them to MP4. As you know there is a 4% speedup when an NTSC show is in PAL format... Is there any setting in handbrake? I've heard of a 3:2 pull down but I have no clue how to do that in handbrake. I've been using handbrake su...

New to this but having success
I'm not sure if what I need is support, since I've been using this successfully for the past week. I just want to make sure I'm doing this correctly. I hope it's ok if an expert can ease my mind... Basically, I have 3 tb hard drive space and just got a TV media player and decided to "dvd to mkv...
