Re: QSV Encode and Frame Rate
I was wrong. The disable QSV decode shows the same min and max as the software encode. Log below: HandBrake svn6239 (Nightly Build) - 64bit Version OS: Microsoft Windows NT 6.2.9200.0 CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4770K CPU @ 3.50GHz Ram: 16275 MB, GPU Information: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 - 10.18.10.3...

Re: QSV Encode and Frame Rate
Thanks for the update, Rodeo. It's interesting that I have done about 100 BD encodes with QSV and have never had an issue until 2 this week. Also, the issue persists if I disable QSV decode in the options.

QSV Encode and Frame Rate
I am seeing a much larger difference in frame rate min and max, on a couple of BD rips using QSV. I know MediaInfo always shows variable, but min and max are within .01 seconds and the file is accepted as constant. Log for a software encode first: HandBrake svn6239 (Nightly Build) - 64bit Version OS...

Re: QSV vs. Software Only: Sync Log Entries
Thanks for the tip. A second workaround option.
Any truth to the Disable LibDVDNav requirement? I saw no difference.

Thanks for the response Rodeo. The workaround is easy. You do appear to be quite busy.

QSV vs. Software Only: Sync Log Entries
I am encoding Enders Game BD after using AnyDVD HD to copy BD to disk. Default High profile settings with Web optimized checked and Disable LibDVDNav checked (as recommended elsewhere). With H.264 (Intel QSV), I am seeing a lot (over 6MB) of "sync: video time didn't advance" log entries. I...

QSV Progress Between svn5953 and svn6007
QSV is now available with svn6007 when I RDC/RDP into my server with DGPU set as the default within the BIOS. With svn5953 and previous, QSV would not be detected with the same configuration/steps. QSV would be available with iGPU set as default or direct access to the server and not using RDC/RDP. ...

Re: Quicksync Persists
Sorry, let me expand. If integrated graphics is default, QSV over RDP is available and works. If external graphics is default, QSV is not available in the GUI drop-down over RDP. Directly accessing the computer with external graphics card default (and Virtu or extended display trick) QSV is availabl...

Quicksync Persists
Feature request: Allow the desired state for QSV to persist regardless of if QSV is currently available. Back story: Leveraging a headless server for encoding, RDP into the server and accessing HandBrake GUI disables QSV. RDP and QSV are incompatible based on Intel documentation. CLI should determin...

Re: [Fixed] Subtitle 'Burn In' Error
This was user error. I went back to the source rip with AnyDVD and VLC also shows burned in subtitles for the first part of the video. Not a HandBrake problem.

Re: [Fixed] Subtitle 'Burn In' Error
With 5855, I am now having subtitles burned-in which may be related to this fix. In options, subtitles are set to none. On the GUI, the subtitle tab has no entries. The log is below: HandBrake svn5855 (Nightly Build) - 64bit Version OS: Microsoft Windows NT 6.2.9200.0 CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4770K...

Re: Hanbrake Quick Sync
I do have virtu installed, so that is an unknown factor. In my testing I did try the bios to igpu but the monitor plugged into the discreet and not the integrated. Same error. My thoughts were that virtu was the problem, but it may also be a hardware thing and not the 4th gen. There were some though...

Re: Hanbrake Quick Sync
My be the 4th gen CPU, as I have a 3rd gen. If you have a chance to pull the discreet card to test, I would be interested in the results. I was planning to upgrade to the same CPU, but may hold off for now... Do you have Virtu MVP installed? Did not resolve my issue, but would be interested to know.

Re: Hanbrake Quick Sync
Hi gambit, Do you have a discreet graphics card in your rig? If so, set the Bios to iGPU as default and reboot. I was getting the same error that you were in my encode log. Once I made the change, I could use Windows remote desktop connection into my server and QSV would work. Quick Sync was detecte...

Re: Not Able to Encode with QSV
Thanks again s55.
I have deleted and re-added the CLI. Will test again. I do believe that Lucid is the issue.

Re: Not Able to Encode with QSV
s55 & tlindgrin, Thank you for your response. I do all of my encoding via windows remote desktop into my server. When the primary graphics is set to integrated within the BIOS, QSV works just fine. When set to discrete, it does not. Both show within the HandBrake logs that Intel 1.6 is available...

Re: Not Able to Encode with QSV
Hi Maxim, Yes, I RDP into my server to do the encode. I can share a sample, but the files are large. I can cut a slice, if you would like to see, but I never get into the encode. The MediaInfo of my current test is below: General Complete name : E:\ServerFolders\Recorded TV\Hells Kitchen\Hells Kitch...

Re: Not Able to Encode with QSV
Sorry for the delay in responding, just back from holiday. Rodeo - I believe I have the latest version of Virtu MVP Desktop Edition installed provided by Asrock (my motherboard). Re: Not Able to Encode with QSV
Thanks for the reply, Rodeo. Yes, both HandBrake.exe and HandBrakeCLI.exe were set in Virtu MVP to integrated GPU. If I set the default graphics in BIOS to integrated, QS works. If set to discreet, it fails with the above error, regardless of source.

Not Able to Encode with QSV
I have been using HandBrake for about 6 months now. I normally encode with the High Profile and Android. Good success with recorded TV, DVDs and BDs. Thank you. I am currently using 0.9.9 as I have before, with no problems. I have tried to test QSV with 0.9.9 and have not been successful. I get the ...
