Re: Error Code 5
Extracting it first with MakeMKV fixed the issue. Does that mean there was something wrong with how it was encoded on the disc (just curious)?

Re: Error Code 5
That's odd. It gets to 100% before returning this error. The whole time it's reading blu-ray folder and writing the mkv file just fine.
I ran it twice. Both times the same. Now I've extracted the title with MakeMKV and retrying with HB.
Thanks.

Error Code 5
Description of problem or question: Can Someone please tell me what it means when HB exits with error code 5? I've never encountered that one before. HandBrake --min-duration 1 --previews 40:0 --input "D:\DVD\Net 1 & 2 (Blu-ray) (1995, 2006)\The Net" --title 6 --format av_mkv --output...

Re: HandBrake Raises Exception
OK, I played around with it a little more, and I get the same exception if I just define one audio track as auto pass through.
Thanks.
Thanks.

HandBrake Raises Exception
Description of problem or question: I'm having an issue with the latest nightly throwing an exception on my custom presets. At first, I completely wiped and recreated them and HB seemed fine, but the issue is back. I traced it down to adding a second audio track in the audio defaults. The first tra...

Re: Export Queue for CLI Broken
OK, thanks. Should I normal ask here first about issues or use GitHub? I like to ask first because some times (OK, lots of times), I'm just an idiot.

Export Queue for CLI Broken
Description of problem or question: The option "Export Queue (CLI Only) seems to have broken in the latest version of the Windows GUI. If I used an older one (even with the lasted version of the CLI, it works fine). It's quite possible I'm an idiot, but I'm not seeing what I'm doing wrong (and...

Re: DVD with hidden videos 'easter eggs'
I have a DVD that I've converted using SuperHQ 480 preset, checking the m4v file I am not finding the 'hidden' video files that are included on the DVD. I was curious how one might go about extracting 'easter egg' type clips that are included on a DVD? If it's a video in the DVD menu, HandBrake won...

Audio Selection for Preset
I don't think this is possible with the audio selection, but I figured I'd ask anyway. I would really like to create an audio selection like how the old "High" preset behaved. I'd like the first output track to be the first source track converted to AAC, and the second and succeeding track...

Re: HandBrake Ignoring --subtitle-default Option
I did build it myself (so I could enable FDK). I'll try your latest release and see if there is a difference.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: HandBrake Ignoring --subtitle-default Option
Both MediaInfo and mkvmerge are saying it's set. I only noticed it recently because I have VLC installed on a new machine and it is showing the subtitles by default (normally, I change VLC's Input/Codecs Subtitle track ID from -1 to 0 to stop auto-playing of subtitles regardless of that flag). I che...

HandBrake Ignoring --subtitle-default Option
Description of problem or question: I have always used --subtitle-default=none to ensure that none of the subtitles tracks is flagged as default. This use to work. Now HandBrake is always marking the first subtitles track as default. This happens for both DVDs and Blu-rays. Steps to reproduce the p...

Re: How do I stop handbrake from opening "source selection" on startup?
What I do is use an AutoIt script to open HB. What is does is:mrjayviper wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 11:10 am as above.
I'm pretty sure the setting is available on macOS. Thanks!
1. Open HB and close "Source Selection."
2. Move HB to my preferred screen position.
3. Open the Queue Window and move it to my desired screen position.

Re: HandBrake quits after 14 frames on some titles
The first thing I would do is install a much more modern version of HandBrake.
When this sort of thing happens to me, the first thing I try is to disable LibDVDNav. If that doesn't work, I extract the title with MakeMKV, and transcode that.

Re: ShutDown after encode with HandbrakeCLI
What I do on Windows is, if I'm calling the cli from a script, I call shutdown when it's done. If I'm calling it programmatically (background process), I call InitiateSystemShutdownEx when it's done.
Re: Curiosity
Why would you completely retranscode a file with HandBrake just to remux it?

Re: Too many titles!
There are several ways of dealing with this that I've found useful: 1. Rip the disc with AnyDVD. The correct mpls will often be in the disc.inf file the tool creates. 2. Load up the original disc in MakeMKV and it will often tell you the correct mpls. 3. Play the disc with PowerDVD, VLC, etc. and lo...
