HB ver .9.5 and Ubuntu 4172 SVN missing filesize option

Hi I was using another version of Ubuntu which was running HB .9.5 but prefer another version of Ubuntu (Mint) and HB nightly is showing SVN 4172. It works no problem, but under video options there is no filesize option which I used all the time in version .9.5 Can anyone advise why the SVN numbers ...

HB .9.5 OGV does not transcode

Hi its odd I can get recordmydesktop OGV file and it plays/converts under Handbrake Picture Settings, but after [Start], conversion lasts a few seconds then resultant is audio only. Arista records OK, but HB is my preferred client. Advice appreciated. See below: [14:37:36] dvd: not a dvd - trying as...

OK pleased to be able to help. Also that you replied - often folks do not reply advising what the problem was - so thank you.

What is the o/s you are using it under? There are sometimes methods to programatically overcome these rights issues.

Read my OP you are not the only one but it is not a consistent problem, hence its harder to find. When you write "consistent" do you mean different people or on a system because this happens 100% of the time with me. Whether it's a protection-free DVD, ripped DVD or via DVD43, the same th...

Did you check to see if its installed properly?
Go to add/remove programs and see if its in the uninstall list.

Do I need the svn client to download the source code then? if not, whats the method to use? And if so, I go to SVN client, import then this url:
svn://handbrake.m0k.org/HandBrake/trunk/win/C#
which asks for a username and password.

Going thru all the docs seems I must have a svn client installed eg for Windows Turtle SVN. So installed that, but now find I need to supply SVN url a password, and there is no docs to advise how to get a password. Tracguide is not showing any info for this aspect.

That did not work... I created a folder named test and moved all the dvd files to it... still the same problem... This is on a Vista machiine... No sorry, I was not clear; the containing folder was \test - that is not important - the container of the video files according to documentation should be...

Hmm that may help. I'll try that disc again. Other discs have worked ok for me but the audio is slightly out of sync Starting to wonder about your hardware. HB is the best for sync that I have used so far; never out of sync! If you havent already do a search for 'sync' in this forum to see others e...

To clarify #2: As for the wrong filesize, I would be better off making a bug report (as I think others have had this problem). When I input a specific size for output, any time I request something larger than 700mb HB doesn't take it - giving an output of 700mb even if I asked for 800. Thanks Akira...

What did you actually do? Select the video ts folder instead of the main folder? I did that and it did not work... I got that too, then after making a VIDEO_TS folder and moving the files to that it read titles OK. However, on same source again, without being contained within the VIDEO_TS folder, i...

2. Have presets for file size output (ex. 1/6th dvd, 1/5th dvd, 750mb, etc.) from a drop down menu. Akira I thought the presets did manage that fairly well. However, what he means probably is some form of calculation based on the various settings the user has chosen, and another alternative for fil...

Start, then immediately stop encoding process

Hello, Here is a tip that some of you may find useful. I decrypted a DVD into C:\ Made my settings then pressed [Encode Video] This was followed with a messagebox: the encode process has now started then immediately thereafter another messagebox: the encode process has now ended This was caused by t...

Correction, Looks like it was before 757. 757 has scan redirection still enabled but not encode progress. Looks like build 742 was the last to have it. Ok I'll leave 742 alone; happy to test anything for you at a later date. More reading (using C++) http://www.codeguru.com/Cpp/misc/misc/article.php...

I believe the crash / error prone issues is actually caused by problems within the C# language itself as you can do a redirect on its own via command line without issue. I suspect the C# code is causing the CLI to stall intermittently which cases the issue. Agreed - it will be a timing issue - when...

C# allows me to make hide the window completely with 1 variable set during launch. I had planned just to hide the scanning window as it doesn't do much in the way of outputs. My feeling is the CLI window during encode should be left, otherwise you can't tell if there are problems during an encode. ...
